I agree that Rider was our only bad loss and that WKU is a good team.

The rest may be a bit of a stretch.

If 9-7 in a bad SEC wouldn't have gotten us in last year how would that change this year? 20 wins isn't the magic number anymore especially when you play a joke of a schedule and lose to the only good OOC opponents you face.

then immediately going on the road is not the most ideal situations, and probably had something to do with us being ice cold. What I don't get is the solution. We never worked Ravern open, we never crashed the boards for offensive rebounds. Add that to one of the staples of a Stansbury team: high turnovers, and you get a very frustrated fan base.

I agree with probably 85% of what he says.WKU is now 2-2 in SEC games, so clearly they have a team that can compete, and playing up there gives them more of a chance. We didn't quit. We we were down 12 with five to play, how many of you thought we would have a shot to take the lead with 16 seconds left? I bet I can count them on no fingers. I don't agree about the tough schedule, and neither do many of the various computers who calculate such things, but if things keep going the way they are, the only bad one of the three will be Rider. Rick is not going to outcoach very many people. Going to the West Coast and then back to Starkville and then to Kentucky is not easy. I can't say that I loved everything I saw from us tonight...turnovers, free throws, substitution patterns, etc. But we didn't quit, and for that I give us credit.

Now, I don't care for the tone of it. I have just as much right to be frustrated/pissed as he does to be optimistic, but don't try to tell me in what way I SHOULD be reacting.

we have NO signature wins in the preseason, ONE decent win against ODU and ONE TERRIBLE loss against Rider. We had 2 other chances to gain respectable wins (Richmond and WKU) and lost both games when we couldn't execute in our final offensive possession. I believe we will need to be 11-5 minimum in the SEC to assure ourselves of the NCAAs. Anything less and we will probably find ourselves on the outside looking in. In my personal opinion, based on what I've seen out of this team so far, even if we do make the NCAAs I don't really see us doing much. We don't consistently make free throws, we are WAY too dependent on the 3 point shot and we are sloppy with the basketball. On a positive, we do play good half court defense.

I dont think anyone expected us to go undefeated this year ....did they??? If we play well down the stretch we'll be fine..
