I heard on Mike and Mike how they think this year is the year of the dual threat QB in college football. How fitting is it that we started guys like Sleepy, Taite, Madkin, Omar Conner, etc, when offenses were needing good prototypical passing QBs.....and now that offenses are turning towards Dual threats, we will be starting a prototypical passing QB with concrete feet? How Mississippi State of us.

Yet another reason why I am anxious to get back to Dan's style in 2014.

Two things:

1. Chris Wilson shutters at this list.

2. It blows my mind how schools like Northern Illinois, Wyoming, and ULLA have QBs on this list, while Dan continues to shove a square peg in a round hole.

Yep. You can see why I've been saying Dak should start. Obviously, he's injured now....but we have a team built for a Dual Threat, and a coach that prefers a dual threat, and we actually HAVE a good dual threat...but we're wanting to set school passing records, so we're going with the pro style QB in the dual threat system.

It would be like Chip Kelly trading for Peyton Manning to come in and run his Oregon offense.

What do Wilson's windows have to do with anything?** when a hurricane comes, does he close his storm shudders?**

He's doing it because he's the best QB he has, period. If Johnny Manziel or Marcus Mariota were on our roster, pretty sure they'd be starting.

He's also doing it because his QB recruitment has not exactly been very successful.

2009 - Russell
2010 - Favre (missed on Newton, Brunetti, Mason, Nance and possibly Broadway)
2011 - Dak+ (missed on Rivers and Coker)
2012 - Schuessler (missed on Voytik, Alford, Liggins, and possibly Bauta, Armstrong, and Lambert)
2013 - Sandberg and Williams

By my accounts, 2013 was the first year Mullen landed his number 1 guy. We signed a back up plan because of MLB risk. Dak is injured and Favre and Shuessler are gone. Duing 2010 through 2012, we signed plan Bs, Cs and even a plan ZZ in Seacrest wannabe.

I know we are not QBU, but any marginally competent dual threat could come in here and run this town tonight.

Yet many consider MSU's QB situation at this moment to be the best its ever been in our history. You doomsayers can't have it both ways. And if Cord Sandberg actually shows up on campus, then all your bitching is completely null and void.

And before the manginas come out and decree that you cannot use MSU's QB history as a basis of comparison, save your breath. You absolutely use MSU's QB history as a basis of comparison. You have to walk before you crawl. The only exception to that rule is if you luck into a Cam Newton, and those are few and far between. And in all honesty, past QB history probably played a factor in him choosing Auburn.
