"Game could be over at the half". History does not say so under Mullen.
Home losses under Mullen:
2011:
-South Carolina won in the 4th quarter after being down; they literally drove to win the game and got us on a coverage mismatch in the endzone.
-LSU game was 9-6 in the 4th quarter
-Bama game was 10-0 in the 4th quarter...not as close as you'd think but not 30-0 or something at halftime.
2010:
-Auburn beat us by 3 and stopped us on our final drive of the game to win
-Arkansas beat us in OT
2009:
-LSU stopped us at the goal line to prevent a major upset
-Houston was a tie game in the 4th quarter
-Florida was a 16-13 game in the 4th quarter
-Ga Tech and Bama were really not close games...but Ga Tech was not out of the question; certainly the game was within reach for us in the 4th quarter. Bama on the other hand that year was the undefeated national title team, and is probably the only team that could declare that the game was over at halftime. Let it be noted that 2012 Tennessee is not going to go undefeated and win the national title.
Let me also say that every single one of these teams was ranked except for Houston, and that was a damn good Houston team, plus we were in our first year of rebuilding from Crxxms.
We may not win on Saturday, but we will be in a position to win it late in the game. We've fared very well at home and especially against unranked opponents under Mullen.
