Cherokee @ Murphy - SMC Title on the Line

Anything can happen but it would be one of the bigger upsets in SMC history for Cherokee to beat Murphy without Evans, definitely bigger than Swain's upset of Murphy in Bryson City last year.
With that said Cherokee can sling the rock a little bit and we saw Murphy struggle some in the secondary last week without #2.
I believe if our boys really wanted it then they could come compete, they're just really not strikin me as a "hey we can do this" type!! Say it's close to over in 1st quarter!!!
If you would have seen us in tha ville a couple weeks ago our wr's showed a weakness that if I was an opposin coach I'd eat up, well mintz didn't do it but tha other 3 did!! I wish a couple would change there outlook on things but I seriously doubt will see that this year!!
Just took a look at stats from the game Thurs night. 629 yards rushing for the Dogs, with 745 total yards offense.
OMG...SMC is kinda of weak this year.....2 great teams...then there are teams that give up 600+ yds rushing....WoW
I agree with that statement completely, I expected Swain to get better as the year went on but they have kind of stayed the same.
I will caution they have been known for playoff magic and have beat some teams they shouldnt have. I wouldn't overlook Swain on my schedule in the playoffs .
But yeah as a whole the SMC is down this season. Hayesville has been decimated by injuries, Cherokee lost there stud running back . Rosman and Andrew's are young .
Unfortunately Rosman really isnt that young. Other than #1 all their top skill guys are seniors and most of their best defensive players are seniors as well.

Fighting4 & GWY make great points. Not seeing fire with these kids. Cherokee does have talent and Mintz can be hard to handle but offensively with Evans sidelined it is going to be a hard task and it is just hard to pull an upset off at the Hill. I believe Cherokee will have “1st and ten BULLDOGS” playing repeat in their heads after this one....take your Advil early.

Hate to break it to you but that was conference title decided last week. Only other teams with one loss in conference Murphy beat head to head which is first tie breaker. So Murphy is already SMC champs no matter what happens Friday night

Same here. 27-10 at the half, but we are lucky to be up that much.
Cherokee really outplayed Murphy in the 1st half, good to see Murphy come out and respond in the 2nd half like a good team should

4 special team plays really changed this game . 1st was a snap over our punters head to the goal line which was blocked
2nd was a snap over yells punters head and he just misses getting it blocked and kicks it 60 yards
And the two huge kickoff returns before and after the half Murphy had total game changers

Man if our kid would have tried hard and not been scared to block that punt then that woulda helped a whole lot!! Wonder if coach keeps kids in that's Obviously scared to come up and make a tackle or changes em for playoffs!?? Wish 1 in particular was switched out!!! And Murphy fans that wasn't a shot at unz for numbers of kids unz have, was just sayin tha dead horse gonna get dirt put on top of him till next year around this time!! Not sure how reliable he was but I spoke to a Murphy fan and he told me unz enrollment numbers was like 480 somethin!! He said unz are definitely 1a!! Asked him about accusations and he said, that's garbage!! Haha!! Anyways!!!
