With the potential for a bid from the Chick-fil-a Bowl in Atlanta, any suggestions about a good hotel - location, decent restaurants near by, other Bulldog fans, etc? Maybe comments from Peach Bowl attendees from years past.

Just about any hotel on Peachtree Street north of Midtown should be fine. There are quite a few by Lenox and Phipps malls that I would probably suggest.

I've stayed in Midtown several times last time at the Hotel Indigo. Great location, can walk to restaurants and bars and take the train to the dome easily.

the only problems are on the southside or southwest side of town ... avoid those areas and just about anywhere else will do ... the Embassy Suites on Marietta Blvd (maybe transitions into Marietta Street by then ) ... is classy with a Ruths Criss in it and with-in walking distance to the dome

we'd basically have to beat Bama but lose toArkansas, or have the FL/SC loser lose to FSU/Clemson. otherwise the FL/SC loser (winner to Outback) would have the same record as us, and no way Peach takes us over either of them.

but i guess a reservation don't cost nuthin.

that way you can travel to and from the game w/out having to deal w/ traffic.

Also, go to the Vortex for an incredible burger and tator tots.

I figure the Gator Bowl. I think we are Chick-fil-A with an opportunity to play down to Music City or up to Cotton.

One win in the final three solidifies Atlanta. Two wins and we are pickin' Cotton. Three wins and we are pickin' Cotton with a 10-2 record. A win over Arkansas and an Arkansas loss to LSU could mean Cotton with just one win. Lose all three and we're headed to Nashville.

...even with equal records?

You do realize SC would bring far more fans, or at least the CW is they would?

I hope that #3-#5 Cotton/Outback/Peach tier still exists, but it looks like it doesn't. that tier would be the only way we would EVER go to the Peach.

They really should tier the Peach and Gator, for the Gator's sake anyway. Us going to the Gator would screw them more than us going to the Peach would screw the Peach, especially if Florida is the other team.

We travel well and we haven't been bowling in 3 years. That place would be packed out with Maroon if given the chance.

South Carolina is closer and they haven't been to the Peach since 1969. and they've never played in the SEC title game, soi don't know if they've ever been to the Georgia Dome. i think the Peach committee would have to think SC is the more desirable choice.

Yes, South Carolina is closer, but everytime MSU has played there, we've sold out our allotment very quickly.

SC has to beat Florida to win SEC East and the way they played the Hogs last week was terrible....

Mississippi State-Florida State Peach Bowl. Record.

MSU has set attendance records at two of its last three bowl games ('99 Peach-since broken, '07 Liberty-will never come close to being broken)

South Carolina-Florida State Peach Bowl. Empty seats. USC fans are going to be disappointed after they get raped in the Swamp this week. They are going to get beat by Clemson. The Peach Bowl is meaningless to them. If I'm the Peach Bowl, I let the Gator Bowl deal with that disappointment against a disappointed Big Ten team.

The myth about MSU not traveling well is well, a myth. I bet we take more people to our bowl game than Florida does to Tampa and Kentucky to Memphis Tennessee (if they get to Bham) or Georgia in Nashville. To us, the Peach Bowl is a big deal. Our fanbase will make that a tough ticket.

Plus, in my experience, and I've been to lots of bowl games not involving MSU, the fan experience at the Peach Bowl is the best in America. Better than the BCS games. So some douchebag doesn't claim I'm saying the Peach Bowl is better than a BCS game - Fan experience Fan experience Fan experience.

Cotton Bowl may be better in the new stadium - but it sucked in '98. Independence was horrible as well. Liberty was okay. Music City is good, but a lot of theirs is kind of snobby. Peach and Outback are two of the best.
