I still have a few characters and small comics in a box. I was as much into Shera as I was Heman.
Somehow i actually liked this movie when it came out. Watched it again last year. It’s bad.
We somehow missed it as children and discovered it in high school. It's for sure a fever dream.
Uh, yeah.... we all at that one friend who wanted to be Shera when we played Masters of the Universe.
My theory on that 1987 version was that He-Man was so popular from 1983-85 that the desire for a live action film was in the stratosphere. They came out with it and it was so bad. Maybe one of the worst adaptations ever put on film. But the marketing and desire made people "like it."
They appear to have changed some canon in this version, but at least it makes sense. Eternia is defeated by Skeletor (Randor's brother) and Adam's mother sends him to her home (Earth) to escape. He grows up thinking he's a normal human but Teela comes and seeks him out to come back to save Eternia. Dr. Evelyn Powers (Evil-lyn) follows her and poses as a college professor and keep her eye on him.
There’s also a Voltron movie coming out some time this year with Henry Cavil.

There was this old girl in school that had a protruding jaw and wore one of those retainers that went around the back of your head (some of you know what I'm talking about). Til this day she is still called Trap Jaw. This is not the girl but posting because I know some of you youngsters have absolutely NO idea what I'm referring too.
