If Chiles isn't behind center this Saturday, might as well chalk it up as a L. Such a promising start to the season, it will be a shame if there is a collapse due to injuries.

If Chiles is injured to the extent he won’t be effective and if keeping him out will allow him to play in remaining games it would make sense to let him rest. Getting some of our defense back like Fitzgerald back will help. Just worried the way Iowa scored so many points while shutting down Wisconsin’s offense. We need to score to keep pace with Iowa and on defense we need to put pressure on their qb. It’s going to be tough to wrangle a win. We gave up too many chunk plays to Oregon at key points in the game.

This is obviously terrible news but Chip is still Chip and we recruited a backup QB who I don't think wandered into Evanston randomly like a lost puppy. I certainly don't love the prospect of marching into NRF on Saturday without Aidan but I have a little more confidence our offense than I have in at least a decade and it's not just because of him alone.

EDIT: Just to be clear, not trying to be a polyanna here...as a college football fan in general, I'm not betting on ANY team riding into a game vs. top 25 conference opponent without their starting QB and predicting a win. But I'm also going to bring up that we have irrefutably one of the best offensive coordinators in the entire sport on our sidelines with a backup QB he picked. All is not lost if those are our circumstances for Saturday.

Nicco has experience. He had a higher INT rate at WVU than I'd like, but so did Aidan before he came here. He'll have good targets at least. Less certain about his scrambling. Nervous, but not giving up hope if Aidan is out.

Has some P4 wins against Pitt, Texas Tech and Arizona... seems more capable then other backups we had in the past.

Trust in Chipco.
