Chilhowie will play Galax Saturday for the right to go to Salem and play for the State title. My guess is Galax will take this one 35 to 14. Any thoughts?

I think it will be a closer game than that, Galax needs to clean up the mistakes. Galax kills a lot of good drives with penalties, they're very young and the youth shows up from time to time. If they clean up the mistakes they have a good chance to get the win but Chilhowie is a very good teams it will not be an easy task for Galax. Should be a hard fought physical game.

With Peoples out a Chilhowie win would by no means be an upset. #20 and #14 our both very good but Galax offense lacks the explosive plays without Dougie. They are having to grind out scores. They desperately need a little something out of passing game. On Chilhowie side they better be ready to get it on in the trenches. Galax will try to make this a war between the hash marks. Should be an excellent game
I think this can be a winnable game for Chilhowie. If we can keep turnovers and penalties in check we have a very good chance. This team is loaded with Juniors that have been a truly special group of athletes. Being a small school this type of class doesn't come around very often. As freshmen and sophomores we have taken our lumps on occasion but I think we'll see how the "hard knocks" are likely to pay off. These boys are playing with more experience than a lot of senior laden teams. Looking forward to a safe and enjoyable game next Saturday. Haven't seen the Warriors play but they are rolling this year. Honestly I didn't think the Tide would get past Narrows after watching the P.M. game. They proved me wrong though. Regardless I hope for a clean injury free game from both teams. Essex and Riverheads both are firing on all cylinders again so its a tough road from here on out. Good luck to both teams bring that title back to the West side!!!!
Galax does make young team mistakes. But have been able to overcome those the last two games. The line play on both sides of the ball is fun to watch.
In my honest opinion if PM played narrows the way they played Galax that game would of been alot closer.
Narrows was big upfront on defense and Galax had no problem grinding it out. How big is Chilhowie up front on D?? Narrows burned Galax with the passing game and took advantage of a short field. I really know nothing about Chilhowie other than the fact they play Galax next week. LoL!!
That last drive changed that passing attack. Pressure makes the QB make mistakes. rest of game he stood in pocket and throwed comfy.
gw_loyal, I respect your opinion very much. We go back a long ways and you know your football. I have not seen Galax play, I only know what I have read on these fourms, and from that, I was thinking Chilhowie shouldn't be on the same field with Galax. I've seen both teams and I'm very high on both. Chilhowie can win this game I have no doubt they can. But they will have to play at an A+ level to win. If Chilhowie can force Galax to throw the ball they will win that's not to say Galax can't pass because they can. But it is far and away from what they do. Galax not having people's will change the way this game is played they have some great backup running backs but they aren't Dougie. I'm still learning twords Galax as I have all season but I will not be surprised to see Chilhowie win this game. Right now I've got Galax-35 Chilhowie-21 simply because I saw what happened when GW kept coming and didn't quit. Galax will not quit coming so Chilhowie to put it away.
Hey Blaster, if anybody can pick a winner in a game of football, it's got to be Blaster. I figured Galax was on another planet compared to the rest of the A1 schools in SWVA. I haven't seen Galax play, but I think Chilhowie will give them a good game and would not be surprised if Chilhowie wins.
Chilhowie had 4 o-lineman that doesn’t start on def. Only one was the boardwine kid(#66) I think, he played DE. Hard to tell how good the warriors are, JIB had improved a lot but are very small in the trenches. I would compare Galax to VA High on your schedule. One thing I do believe is that these teams will play each other again next year in a c vs d rematch if they keep the same format. Chilhowie will have virtually everyone back next year

I thought they rotated regions from year to year, wouldn't region A and C play next year and B and D?
What I read online from Roanoke Times had them 168 yards but I'll see what the Galax paper says this morning

I don't think Galax was trying to rush the passer for most of the game, they just rolled out with the QB to contain him if he decided to tuck and run. At least that's what it looked like to me
I don't think I've seen anyone say Chilhowie didn't have a chance, from what I've read on here most people think it will be a good game. Safe travels to Chilhowie and their fans.

Wasn't trying to stir up anything, was trying to let you know that most people on here think your warriors have a good chance I probably should've worded it differenly. On paper, this game is close. Union will dominate this game on both lines of scrimmage. I was going to make the trip but believe the Galax/ Chilhowie game will be a better game.
I’ve been doing some research on this game. I’m going against everything I’ve said so far. I think Galax will win this game going away. They have been here before, they are young but play beyond their years. Mentally they will be ready more so than Chilhowie, they will over come the mistakes they make during the game. Coming out in the 2nd half, you will see adjustments most teams don’t make. They will be able to run the ball at will. I’m going Galax by 18 points. 31-13
