I always think I'm not going to get into the Winter Olympics and then I catch a little bit and see something like this and I'm hooked.

Yeah, it's Ice Dancing, but this is pretty incredible...

Btw, in case you missed it, NBC's darling Vonn crashed into the wall in the first turn while her US teammate, whose name wasn't mentioned until she skied, won the Downhill gold.
NBC Olympic coverage: 10 minutes of some glowing “feel good” bullsh** story about the athlete they’ve decided is their favorite, then 2 minutes of actual competition. Repeat.

Like The Blindside on steroids, which really isn’t much of a stretch for the Germans

Best thing is peacock app. You can go find what you want to watch and cut through the BS
But then you have to pay for the app & streaming is a pain. Plus not much I really want to watch anyway. Maybe the alpine skiing but I can see that most weekend on the World Cup tour anyway.

Watching the mixed skating, my wife wondered what their spouses must think, with them spending so much time together and sharing these emotional, and somewhat physical, connections.
I told her, I guess they both must have very understanding husbands.
The skaters in the OP are married to each other, so no worries there.

The NBC sports network is carrying the Gold Zone for these Olympics. My favorite way to watch

I do like watching the Downhill. It really is just extremely skilled skiers taking it to the absolute edge of what's possible.
Might be my favorite event (if nothing else the scenery is spectacular) but I'll watch at least bits and pieces of everything, including ice dancing and figure skating. Still prefer the summer games but I enjoy them both.
Watching a little luge and speed skating (makes my thighs burn just watching as does alpine) this morning when they wrapped up their coverage at 11 AM and thought, damn it's 6 hours to kick off, who's going to watch 6 hours of pregame? Well here I am nearing 4 hours later. Been well done and pretty interesting.

I watched a couple of the luge runs yesterday. It's amazing how somebody can slide down the ice going 80 mph on about half a somewhat steerable toboggan. It makes bobsled look safe.
