Won't be Memphis - that's the white out.
Won't be Auburn - that's the true maroon game

@ LSU - possible
Georgia - would seem too copycat since they do this too
Alcorn State - let's not go there
UAB - homecoming, but I doubt it
Kentucky - possible, but that's not the biggest candidate on the home schedule
Arkansas - THIS. We need to finally beat those bastards.

Saw the new sideline apparel, and there is an official black game day shirt. Players love it too, just hope for once we can actually win it<div>

Grey pants with double maroon strips, maroon helmet with interlocking MSU, Bulldawg Blitz playing on the sound system. Could be fun.

I think it would be badass to pull the black jerseys out for an away game since LSU will be in white.

but it has grown on me a bit. I know it's also a big recruiting / marketing tool. I say let's pair it with black pants with the maroon stripe on the leg... this way they will look like a bunch of NINJA running all over the field.

If we use it again this year - I'm guessing it's the Auburn game, I know it's the TRUE MAROON game, but talk about a pivotal game - and it maximizes the exposure on Thursday night ESPN game.

Arkansas isn't a rival of ours, and they'd be the best candidate.

Now, if they are in the top 10 when they come to play us(very possible), then yes, wear the black shirts.

The black shirts are meant for big games against huge opponents. Not Kentucky and ****.

You are right. If the game is in the day, it will not happen, but if it is a night game I doubt the black jersey would be a problem with the heat. Historically LSU always seems to play us at the 11 30 slot except the last time we went down there.

As we saw last year in football and basketball, the black jerseys can energize the already-pumped fans. Sure, the players get fired up to wear them, but the atmosphere at home is amplified. You lose that if you do that on the road. Not to mention that visiting recruits can see them first-hand at home, not on the road.

I like using them as an alternate home uniform, for a big game each year. I'd go with Auburn or Arkansas. The Auburn atmosphere would be even bigger if we come out in black.</p>

Why don't we wear purple with yellow numerals at LSU? Just to f with them. As much our colors as black.

Although, I also think it would be kind of bad *** to wear them in Baton Rouge.

They are supposed to have this unfriendly environment, and I think embracing it in some way may help us psychologically.

It won't be LSU (why have a special jersey for a road game) and it won't be Alcorn (why bother). Georgia's only done it once against Florida, so it's not like we'd be copying them, but it's too early in the season and too close to the white out and true maroon games. I doubt it's UAB. That's homecoming and again, why bother. So that leaves Kentucky or Arkansas. My guess is Kentucky because we want to finally win one of those games and that's a much better bet than Arkansas.

Arkansas....and my oppinion is that they are always a huge game for us in relation to being bowl eligible.....we've always struggled with them and we need something to place a mental emphasis on playing them.....i wouldnt care if we mad this a staple for the only black uniform game of the year...even on the road...use black in some unique way and at home the jersey..ect.

Get used to them, because the black jersey games are gonna be here for a while. I personally don't like black jerseys, but I love the excitement they brought to both the Bama and Kentucky games. And the players and recruits love them. They're not going away anytime soon.

They will have black jerseys AND black pants. I think it looks great and I know that players and recruits love them. Also, I think the Arkansas game would be a good one to break them out at.<div>
</div><div>Maybe if we wear them in a game that's not the toughest team we'll play all year (which Arkansas could be), maybe it'll help our players' confidence and help them pull out a close game in the 4th quarter.</div>

Those are the biggest home games this year. And the reason it looked stupid last year cause we got stomped because we did it vs Bama. If we would have one people would have loved them.</p>

So yes, we are copying UGA and all other schools that have done it before us. The black jerseys have ZERO effect on the players and I would rather lose in OUR COLORS that some made up black **** uniform.

If its close going into half against Arkansas then I'd like to see us take a lesson from the Mighty Ducks and come out of the locker rooms with black after half. Our fans seem to have a hard time getting back on their feet after the first 2 quarters and AC/DC could do the trick. I'd just hate to see us come out like we did against bama with black and end up looking like fools, probably best if we test the waters for the first 2 quarters before we plunge into the black.<div>

we come out in green jerseys or some other meaningless, random, non-school color. Now that would be True Maroon...I mean True Black..I mean..aw to hell with it.

Not sure what the True Maroon Game entails (Maroon, I suppose), but the point of alternate color jerseys is to hype fans in a crucial home game once or twice a year.

We finally figured this out under Nutt. Red - LSU always, and other big home games (Bama last year). Otherwise blue.

Anyone else notice that wearing an alternate jersey vs. Bama is a bad idea?

Something the Student Association started. They sell True Maroon t-shirts that are, maroon of course, to wear at a designated game every year. That game is Auburn this year.

Still wouldn't surprise me to see the football team go its own direction and wear black for Auburn.

PS: The red jersey is the best looking jersey the Mississippi TBD's have.
