Also choking someone is no joke. This isn’t like you punching someone and then unforeseen consequences follow. When you choke someone the intent is to immediately cause harm and potential death. You choke somebody that’s not a “oops I lost my temper and slugged him” That’s a willful, intentional act of harm and it puts you in the aggressor position. For you to claim self defense in that you better have defensive wounds and be able to claim you were in fear of your life and the only way to subdue was to choke out the attacker.

In short, unless his lawyer is Johnny Cochran on steroids, Beats has some splaining to do.

Actually I tend to think when you go for the throat you’ve snapped. But I prefer to kick the knee.

Do you wear diaper pants so it doesn’t hurt when he spanks you?
Dude, when you try this hard you make it kind of cringey.

He's toast. This is not the right era to assault a family member as a representative of a public university. Wife battering? I guess time will tell.

This board is so poisonous right now I rarely visit.

But this seems a good time to express gratitude for having as University of Kentucky's highest profile public official a man who has recruited kids who have brought praise and honor to the university virtually without exception for a dozen years, and who has been a symbol of activist charity work, raising millions of dollars for Kentuckians in need and people in places like Haiti.

John Calipari has been a great public image for Kentucky and the university. As a Kentuckian now living on the East Coast I can appreciate how much that means. Thanks Coach Cal.

That old poster Morganousky or something like that was pounding the table for Beard to UK. [roll]

You can take a man out of Lubbock, but you can't take Lubbock out of the man.

I mean I’m not firing him until it’s done or some real flaming evidence hit my desk. But if I’m AD he’s immediately suspended and banned from campus until charges are either dropped or he’s found innocent.
Yeah, I'd ask him to take a leave of absence for now, until more is known. If I were AD I'd much prefer he do that voluntarily rather than forcing me to suspend him.

30 year old boyfriend found in teen daughters room 2am change any minds?
In Kentucky I guess it could be a family member. JK. It says it was a domestic situation with a family member. Daughter or spouse. If they have body cam footage he’s fooked.

Wouldn't make sense to just be coming forward if the person doesn't want to press charges.

On December 12, 2022, at approximately 12:15 a.m., the Austin Police Department (APD) received a 9-1-1 call for a disturbance in the 1900 block of Vista Lane. The caller reported the disturbance was no longer ongoing and one of the individuals had left the house. APD officers responded and located a woman who stated she had been assaulted and strangled by Christopher Michael Beard.

Beard was booked into Travis County Jail. He is charged with Assault by Strangulation/Suffocation - Family Violence, a third degree felony.

If suspend him just to show the University was taking it seriously.
