I will preface this with I usually go by 247 ranking because they have the most national guys that travel the most and I think they do the best job of rating prospects. RN has dropped from a 103 to 100 rating after a sub par senior season with 46 tackles and only 4 sacks. Chris Jones has went from unranked to a 96. He had 160 tackles and 14 sacks this year. He is already drawing rave reviews form the national guys at the MS/Ala all-star game. With the 1 more national all-star game he has a very good chance of closing the gap completely, particularly if RN falls below 100.

not saying Chris is not comparable to Robert, but I think comparing their numbers is like comparing apples and oranges. I bet that Grayson plays a helluva lot better competition than Houston does.

But... you can look at it a different way, too. He has gotten his #1 status, did he slack off because of it? Big head? From everything that has surrounded him, he seems to be a smuck. I'll take Chris Jones all day long over Robert and his ego.

Yeah, you definitely can't compare competition. And it's no knock on RN or CJ. RN has benefited from better competition and coaching, while CJ is still very raw. I'd be willing to say, though, that CJ's ceiling is as AT LEAST as high as RN's. RN just happens to be further along at this point.

The national guys definitely see Jones' raw skill and potential. He's going to be a good one and we should be just as proud to have him as whoever lands the "once in a decade" prima donna.

From a poster on 247.

Chris Jones- 160 tackles 42 for loss 14 sacks 49 qb hurries 1 int 10 ff
Robert nkemdiche 46 tackles 9 for loss 4 sacks

I don't care what your competition is, 160 tackles in a HS season by a defensive end is impressive.

RN is going to end up a DT. He's already 285.

Regardless, they are both elite talents. I'm just glad one of them is headed our way...

Kimdeechy is a pre-Madonna and has let the recruiting process distract him tremendously. BUT, he is an outstanding talent and if they get him working like he is supposed to- will be a damn good player for them. Chris Jones is just starting to figure out how good he might be. He is going to be a very good player for us as well.

Mississippi will win the press conference again if he signs with them- and that's fine. It's what they do best. But we will be doing just fine with what we have put together. We will have put two very good recruiting classes together back 2 back- and that's huge.

Yeah, I have been around plenty long enough to know about the dubmass and ACT 17-ups. I have never seen anyone use pre-Madonna or **** for dick. You guys are internet rockstars in your own heads.

Serious question: What has Kimdeeche (sp) done to earn the prima dona tag?

I'm not defending him, rather asking because I have no idea. Is it the whole trying to get his teammates scholarships? His mom is a quack, is that it? Simply because he's considering Ole Miss?

i have to say, i've been around via this handle and another for over 4 years now. I know about most 6pack inside jokes, but I've never gotten this one. Never seen it explained.

How good of a D-line coach is Wilson?

CJ is very raw and will need a lot of coaching. Right now he's wrecking teams by being physically superior which obviously won't work on the next level.

He is raw, but the one thing he doesn't have to work on is speed. He is faster than every DE we have right now, and maybe some of our LBs. The kid is a physical specimen only comparable recently to Fletcher Cox coming out of high school.

It is the 5 man package deal thing he did at Clemson. That is an ego right there. Also, his season stats show that he has clearly let his fame get to his head.

RN took on 2 or 3 (or 4) blockers nearly every play this year. Stats don't always tell the story of an interior D-lineman. I don't think it was the fame.

Poster named Troy McClure posted that in Div 1-A college football there were 19.83% black coaches. He divided 119/6 instead of 6/119 for the %.

I can't remember exactly what it was about but some guy named McClure made a long rambling post arguing about something and to make his point he said something like that 11 Div. I-A teams had done something and that was 19.83% of them. The funny thing is I just read right over that and didn't realize how obviously wrong that percentage was until someone corrected him.

not buying it

I watched a couple of his games this year and he was singled up the majority of those games. He also wasn't getting much pressure the entire game. Their was a DT on their team that I was really impressed with though.

Damn, I must have missed all of his games this year on TV where they showed him being double and triple teamed. Exactly how do you know this fact? Did Yancy tell you this over a glass of merlot?

I don't subscribe to Yancy. And yeah, you must've missed them.

But I'm sure you're right. He's just really overrated. Thank God he's going to TSUN!

Don't dodge the question asshat...How many games did you watch of his this year?? You had to have watched all of them, and focused on Robert, to make the claim that he "took on 2-3 blockers nearly every play this year"? You may not subscribe to Yancy, but you're dancing like him...answer the question if you're going to be a smartass.

By the way, he hasn't committed yet. And once he finds out Freeze was the one that lit the flag on fire during the riots, and that he is likely leaving to go to Alabama once Saban takes a pro job after the season ends, he may decide to go elsewhere. Just sayin.***

I watched 4 and listened to 2 1/2 others, to be exact. I have a younger cousin on the team.

A question I have is why aren't more schools offering CJ?

And.....bitchslapped.

Ha, so HE saw 4 games...yea, slapped around. Let's get him to prove who his cousin is. Because I have a cousin on that team too as far as you tools know. Man, you'd believe the Devil himself if he supported Ole Miss spin and arguments.

Because unlike Chris Jones, Robert is not committed to anyone. MSU can already count on Chris while Ole Miss prays for Robert.

Bitchslapped? According to you and Vicky's terms...yes you just were.

can tell that <quote> RN took on 2 or 3 (or 4) blockers nearly every play this year. <unquote> by seeing 4 and listening to 2 1/2 others on the radio.

Got to see that film ... 2 or 3 (or 4) blockers nearly "every" play. My ***.

Do we live in a fantasy world where being committed means schools stop pursuing you? How is CJ Johnson doing at MSU then? Is Whitehead as good as advertised? Cmon guy. Are you even trying?
