People do crazy things in the privacy of a voting booth.
As well as the publicity of Facebook posts.
That will be an open election with no primary. Choices will be Cindy Hyde-Smith (R), Chris McDaniel (R), and Mike Espy (D). That's an extremely weak field for a senatorial election. I could see Gov. Bryant's pick finishing 3rd and a McDaniel-Espy runoff with the winner going to the Senate. If that's the case, I would probably vote for Espy, and I suspect a lot of Republicans would. Bryant too a HUGE risk with this appointment and pissed a LOT of people off.
Anybody else think he’s a fraud and a pathological liar?
He says he won't lobby for, negotiate a vote for, or accept one penny of Federal appropriated spending for local projects (bringing money back home to his state).
I wonder how many he burned that had ever been built to start with. His fanatical base still supports him just as much as they ever did. And almost no one outside that group ever supported him. Espy will get 100% of the democratic vote, and with Hyde-Smith being such a weak candidate, it's going to be a close 3-way race.McDaniel burned a lot of bridges in the last election.
Yep.Just hold your nose, vote for Cindy, and call it a day.
