Get to the part of the story

where you followed her out to her car and found the hole in her zone defense.

Wait a minute.....

I was sitting near Chris Wilson's wife at the game. It's pretty easy to notice that she really gets into the game and is always visibly upset when things aren't going so hot for the defense on the field. When it got to 21-0 yesterday she stood up, walked down the stairs and left. While she was walking down fans behind her were chanting the "Na na na na, hey hey hey hey, goodbye" song to her. Yeah I get we were getting skull dragged but I thought that was below the belt and I wanted to punch the fans teeth out who were chanting it. ********.

Even our DC's wife left the ballgame in the second quarter? *Mrs. Wilson is definitely no Meo Stansbury as far as having faith in the team.

Considering there were tears in her eyes maybe she just wanted to remove herself from public and go watch the game somewhere else. I don't know. I don't know, maybe I'll go to bed, bath, and beyond I don't know. I don't know if we'll have enough time.

Some questions

1. Did the fans chanting know that was Chris's wife?

2. Was she talking smack to the fans for bitching about the defense? "Shut up- I'm Chris Wilson's wife" would qualify as smack.

3. Did she leave because she was pissed like the rest of us?

Talked with some one also there and she started the whole thing. And song was sang after she told the fans she exchanged smack with that she was going to the skybox. Take it for what it is worth......

It's my experience

that usually when this happens it goes down somthing like that. Team plays like crap. Fans talk and say something. Woman turns around and announces that they are coach/players Mom/wife/girlfriend/grandmother/booty call and tells them to shut up and that the offending fans don't know what they are talking about and if they have ever played or coached before. As things go from bad to worse on the field, they continue to go from bad to worse in the stands and fortunately for all involved Mrs. Wilson took the high road and left it sounds like.

I don't blame her- if I was in the same situation and the fans were getting under my skin, I would have probably done the same. No sense getting into a fight or pulling an Anthony Alford's Mom scene. Except I probably wouldn't have told them where I was going.

If you're going to be a family member of an athlete or coach- you've got to deal with that sometimes. My Dad was a high school basketball official and he caught all kinds of hell from time to time- sometimes when he didn't even make the call! But I never did anything in the stands because I didn't want to embarass him.

So the coaches wife started talking unprovoked smack to fans for no reason? I understand you said FWIW but I dont believe your friend. End of the day your friend and the people that sit around him are complete POS. The coach's families dont deserve that period. If I would have been up there that **** would not have flown. The sad part is Im guessing if they were around her, they were in good seats so your friends are older and well-to-do which makes their actions even more unacceptable/juvenile/immature. 17 them

Never walked out of a ballgame back when I was married but did tell a few daddies to shut up and if they had a problem with the coaching to go see her face to face instead of bitching behind her back. That's where it ended. Also made it a point to move to the other side of the gym from then on because parents and fans know it all. The fans that chose to sit where I sat didn't want to hear the **** either about their kids. Todd knows who I am talking about. Fans are fans and when it turns personal it's going too far. Don't blame the woman for walking out because I'm sure some of the tough guys were boozed up and we know what booze does to a tough guy.

Ozarka is correct...but here's a little more of what happened. A couple of rows behind the coaches wives are "the candy man" and a woman (I assume his wife) who are both very vocal and obnoxious. They, along with others, were giving the coaches hell after the game got out of hand (fully knowing they were right behind the coaches wives). At one point Kelly Hevesy politely asked them to please give it a rest, or something to that affect. Several times during the game she also leaned over to Tina Wilson and told her not to say anything back because it would just make matters worse. The vocal group really started laying into Chris Wilson and Tina began to cry. A little later Tina and several others decided to just leave and go to the M Club. As they were leaving, that's when the other fans chanted the song. It was inappropriate and uncalled for. Sure, coaches wives should have thick skin, but these fans were over the top.

Good gracious, sad to hear that we have those kind of scumbags within our fanbase. Guess most schools do but its still tough to hear that. I mean do these fans believe the coaches are TRYING to put a bad product on the field? That is just freakin' ridiculous. I would hate to hear about how horrendously obnoxious they would have been to our coaches' families if we had come into the game at 1-7 instead of 7-1.

This is pathetic. If you want to *****, then *****. I 'm sure the coaches wives can handle someone bitching like an adult.

I would like to have seen Candyman and the "tough guys" say it to Hevesy or Wilson. However, in reality, we know that would never happen.

Candyman used to sit behind me...I am so thankful he moved for whatever reason.

There is no excuse for saying anything to a coach's family member

None. There is no justification for it.

They are both insane and huge. I wouldnt look at them the wrong way, much less disrespect their wives.

I seriously think one of you guys with personal knowledge and witness to this event should email the AD about it and request that further security be placed near your section for the Arkansas game. Purposefully harassing a coach's wife has to be shown as the wrong thing to do. Unreal.

been going on for years Der. Being a member of a coaches family at a game that is not going well can be brutal. The coaches are paid to deal with criticism but the wives and kids arent prepared for how nasty it can get. Honestly im surprised they dont sit in club level where there are fewer average fan ********. but in the long run, im not sure what can really be done. at some point the fans around the offenders need to tell them to shut the 17 up.

Yeah it is a tough one to figure out. Fans "paid their money" and by God they can ***** if they want to". I just can't understand purposefully taunting a coach's family. That is over the line.

sadly, what ends up happening is that the wives and kids stop going to the games. it's just too difficult to deal with after a couple games like that. and it's not an excuse for the coaches doing a bad job. but taking it out on a wife is the worst possible thing as a fan that you can do.

The candyman is terrible

Haven't cared for him from the first time I saw his antics at a basketball ball game my freshman year up there

I have coached against Caleb (Chris & Tina's son) i felt like an apology was deserved and asked him to tell her (as a state fan) we're sorry. My wife hates going to my games for the same reason. Coaches families (unless they provoke) should be out of bounds in my opinion. It's hard enough to do your job much less have somebody go all full blown idiot on a woman, who JUST happens to be the coaches wife. Was in Gainsville after Mullen beat UF and as Urban Meyer's Mercedes drove by w/ wife & little son drove by these idiot *** fans were flipping the little kid off & attempting to moon him? WTF?

I'm quite sure the AD knows about it already. I've also learned that the candy man is known as Bulldog Ronnie and that the female is most likely his sister. And I'm pretty sure he favors males over females...or so I was told.

Have any of you ever seen Wilson's wife? She's a babe. Regardless of her being a coach's wife, why would you heckle a pretty lady?

How did he get the name "Candyman"?

Not that there could be any non-creepy version of that story, I'm curious...

I would pay money to be in that section before the game against Arkansas. I would love for Wilson and Hevesy to come into the stands pregame during warm ups for just 3 minutes and confront that ***** of a man and tell him if they hear of one instance of him even looking at their wives, they will find him after the game. Wilson would be bad enough but to have Coach Hevesy mad at you for taunting his family? That is one big scary mother17er. That Auburn game when he was looking across at Chizik and crew when the headsets weren't working was awesome. He was ready to tear their 17ing heads off.
