With the bowl out of the picture I can't help but look to recruiting and next year. I know we are not graduating that many so 25 in this class may be a lot but with 15 signees maybe we can get 10 more, here is my list of 10, who do y'all have? (And yes, I am trying to be realistic, not just rattling off the top 10 in the country)

QB - C. Newton - JUCO
WR - V. Sanders - Nox. Co.
OL - D. Robinson - Olive Branch
OL - W. Rea - Harrison Co. - I think we may already have him signed in baseball
DL - W. Dorsey - JUCO
DL - C. Thompson - Hollandale
DL - C. Martin- Madison Cen.
LB - T. King - Yazoo
DB - D. Menzie - JUCO
DB - A. Sloan - Central High (Ark)

I think Newton, Sanders, Robinson, Thompson are likely but not in the bag. Rea signed with baseball. MSU is not really on Dorsey, King or Sloan any more. As to not sound like rebel fans, who knows the various reasons, either we have no shot or they aren't good enough. Martin is going to Oxford. I have no clue who Menzie is.

Swap Dorsey for Carmon and you have your JUCO DLineman. Jay Hughes and Matthew Wells will likely sign with us, as will Nick Griffin. Hopefully we get the OL Gates out of Georgia, depends on if Georgia offers. I think we get Chris Hughes out of Mobile. Robert Johnson is anybody's guess. I think we are going to offer a high school quarterback, maybe Mason from Georgia or Dylan Favre. Hopefully Mason.

QB- All I want for Christmas is Cameron Newton.

OL- Damien Robinson- I saw him play against MC, and I thought he did OK. I'm no o-line guru, though. At the very least, with is size, there's something to work with. I think he falls in our lap since Bama isn't likely to offer him.

RB/DB- Matthew Wells

WR- Vincent Sanders. I just hope that FSU doesn't offer.

WR- Robert Johnson

DE- Carlos Thompson

DT- James Carmon/Cartman- BEEFCAKE!

CB- Ryan Williams- from Co-Lin, and played a couple of years at Auburn

CB- Jay Hughes

RB- Nick Griffen

DT/DE- Carlton Martin- I'd like to pull a Buckles, but I don't think it happens.

I think that you have been drinking Rosebowl's kool-aid or something.

Cam Newton is in the bag. I have no idea about Damien Robinson. He is huge and could possibly be a very good OL in the future and we need some solid OL help.

I am not sure that Mullen and co will take Carmon and I am not sure that we need him.

Sanders and Wells are HUGE priorities but I think that one of both of them could go out of state or to Ole Miss. Wells is a wild card but we are definitely in the game with him.

I think Todd's list is realistic. I dont think even he would expect to get all of them though.

and we would only have him for 2 years. Outside of T. Cody (who is vastly overrated and not even AL's best DT), most JUCO fat *** DT's don't work out. Carmo will be like that guy that signed with AU a couple of years ago, think his name was Ellis.

we don't have anyone set to fill that slot.

And to say every juco DL is a bust is not true. Jessie Bowmand and Antonio Johnson are 2 of the best we've had in a while. You run a risk with any signee.

And I would love to have T. Cody. He is not overrated. What he does just doesn't show up on a stat sheet.

Had a hamstring. Really was only about 70% Still impressive athlete. Itawamba has a freshman, Ashton Shumpert, keep an eye on him for a few years.

Countering Sanders' injury, Asian Ruff was bothered by a still pulled groin-so both teams were limited on defense

heck our best teams in the 90s were filled with Dlinemen from JUCO. Willie Blade, Dorsett Davis, Toby Golliday to name a few plus Jesse Bowman was a good one just the last few years and our best Dlineman this year was Pernell McPhee, another JUCO. Yea, if your signing people that nobody else wants from Arizona Western it can be disastrous, but DL that have proven themselves in JUCO are actually a more sure deal than HS DL that have never made the step to college.

I think Juco DL can be very successful. As mentioned above about our history with Juco DL, we have had some success with them. Also, with Love leaving, we will need a big body to fill holes. As far as Carmon's fitness level.....well I have total confidence in our strength and conditioning coaches to get him in top condition. Especially if he can get on campus early. For me, Cam Newton is #1 and James Carmon is #2. Don't we already have a couple of Carmon's Gulf Coast teamates committed?

Wells was in Oxford this weekend his head coach drove him up there. His coach is an Ole Miss homer and hates MSU so it is likely that he is pushing him as hard as he can to Oxford. Mullen was at Lawrence County to watch Wells play a few weeks ago. People from Lawrence County are telling me that Wells is leaning towards us however.

is evaluating them. I know Jackie said a time or two that they didn't evaluate the Arizona Western guys very well. Obviously.

We should sign at least 5 OL and 4 DL every year. If not, then sign guys you can see growing into OL or DL. Sherrill won at State with bad QB's and WR's, and decent to good RB's, because he had tons of line talent. He stopped getting line talent, he started losing.

Just kidding, maybe he will turn out to be a good one.

I agree with you though. I am hoping we get Damien Robinson and Kenarious Gates. Those would be two HUGE bodies for Hevesy and Balis to work with for a couple of years.

On the D-Line I am not as worried. I think we could definitely use Carmon, but we have above average depth on the D-Line. McPhee, Bell, Ferguson, Stigers, Cox, Boyd, D. Jones, McKenzie (can't wait to see if the buzz on him is true). Add Carmon, Eulls, Virges and Carlos Thompson to that group and I like it a lot.

I agree with your list for the most part Todd. Just add Chris Hughes at LB and Kenarious Gates at OL. If you haven't checked him out yet, I think he is a big time sleeper if Georgia stays off of him. Here is the list as I see it.
