Because I know Byrne's gestapo monitors this board:

First of all, some background. I'm Christmas shopping for my Grandfather, who is almost 90 and is one of the biggest MSU football fans around. He went by train from Jackson to the 1940 Orange Bowl. He can't go to the games because he has Alzheimer's and can't drive anymore. So, all I want to do is get him a MSU sweatshirt with the new Dan Mullen era "We're going to kick #!%$'s *** every year, take no prisoner's M-State logo". He told me to yell for him at the Egg Bowl this year because he can't go.

I'm thinking that this shouldn't be hard because I have a high enough post count and Internet cred points to know to google the Lodge and look at MSU's website. I also, just in case went to the local malls and etc.

I, for the life of me can NOT believe how little stuff there is with the new MSU logo on it. Now, there's plenty of stuff with the LT era M-State "Right Way" logo on it. But trying to find stuff with the new logo on it is rather difficult. It's possible- I did find some things.

But my point is this- after years of LT trying to cram the old M-State logo down our throats and selling the MSU logo that everyone liked to Nike, I think it would be prudent and appropriate to burn anything else with the old logo on it for sale. Or give it to some starving naked children in Kenya, although if I were them, I would choose to remain naked. I would say that maybe I can understand the malls selling out of the new stuff, but not the Internet. Just looking at the old logo reminds me of half-assedness and dispair. After the Egg Bowl beat down and the actual firing of Carl Torbush, I can't remember the last time I was this excited about MSU football in general. Only to have the constant reminder of LT and what was constantly out there.

I look forward to a world without Russell Athletic MSU gear. I also have never seen so many Egg Bowl smack t-shirts. Not that I'm complaining about that.

I am sure The Lodge would love to clothe African children with Larry's M State logo - if you paid for it.

Unless I am confused on the original M-state (larry) logo or the new one. Seems the new on isn't as "ghey" or frilly on the ribbon,

It's a poster of the 1941 Orange Bowl between MSU and Georgetown (1940 regular season):

Historicfootballposters.com

"What could possibly be more satisfying than having an undefeated (10-0-1) season capped by a week in the Miami sun and an Orange Bowl win over a bunch of effete pink tea drinking thugs from Georgetown? Maybe only if it had been Ole Miss instead---but the Rebels had already been disposed of five weeks earlier."

I have an actual game program from that Orange Bowl. It's pretty cool.

But if you're in the Jackson area, I was out at the new Dick's Sporting Goods in Flowood looking for something similar and they have a good bit of the new gear.

They aren't as good looking--most are the goofy program covers of the past--but someone might remember those particular games.<a href="http://www.historicfootballposters.com/fp_gallery.php?school=Mississippi-State">

One great poster, one decent one (the 29 MSU-UM poster) and 5 ****** ones. And what's with all the Auburn posters? I'm guessing if you search for Auburn posters on that site you'll probably see over 100 of them.

is a great gift for anyone.. got it for my birthday and i've read through many times already. if you've never picked one up to look through it, do it. it's an entire history of msu football all the way up to the CDM hiring. it has replica posters, tickets, game guides and photos in it that are actually postcards if you wanted to use them for that purpose. it's also complete with the new logo.. wore during the egg bowl. It's white with maroon writing. I think it's made by Adidas. Anyone know?

I remember that program. I'm thinking we kept it for a few months before it eventually was thrown away.
