Because I know Byrne's gestapo monitors this board:
First of all, some background. I'm Christmas shopping for my Grandfather, who is almost 90 and is one of the biggest MSU football fans around. He went by train from Jackson to the 1940 Orange Bowl. He can't go to the games because he has Alzheimer's and can't drive anymore. So, all I want to do is get him a MSU sweatshirt with the new Dan Mullen era "We're going to kick #!%$'s *** every year, take no prisoner's M-State logo". He told me to yell for him at the Egg Bowl this year because he can't go.
I'm thinking that this shouldn't be hard because I have a high enough post count and Internet cred points to know to google the Lodge and look at MSU's website. I also, just in case went to the local malls and etc.
I, for the life of me can NOT believe how little stuff there is with the new MSU logo on it. Now, there's plenty of stuff with the LT era M-State "Right Way" logo on it. But trying to find stuff with the new logo on it is rather difficult. It's possible- I did find some things.
But my point is this- after years of LT trying to cram the old M-State logo down our throats and selling the MSU logo that everyone liked to Nike, I think it would be prudent and appropriate to burn anything else with the old logo on it for sale. Or give it to some starving naked children in Kenya, although if I were them, I would choose to remain naked. I would say that maybe I can understand the malls selling out of the new stuff, but not the Internet. Just looking at the old logo reminds me of half-assedness and dispair. After the Egg Bowl beat down and the actual firing of Carl Torbush, I can't remember the last time I was this excited about MSU football in general. Only to have the constant reminder of LT and what was constantly out there.
I look forward to a world without Russell Athletic MSU gear. I also have never seen so many Egg Bowl smack t-shirts. Not that I'm complaining about that.
