We better win. It actually has a gold tint to it I think.

I'm not a huge fan but if the players/recruits like it - so be it.

Not winning games doesn't require you to wear the same boring unis.

Those helmets look awesome. I hope that really is what we are wearing.

I think they look pretty damn sharp. I don't understand the "we better win" when we were special uniforms. Football is suppose to be fun and wearing unis like these helps make it fun for the recruits, players and fans. enjoy it. It's egg bowl week and I'm ready for Thursday.

They can wear pink chrome for all I care if they win. I don't get all worked up one way or the other about uniforms. I prefer more traditional usually but the alternative stuff is here to stay for a while. Kids like it so it doesn't bother me. Personally, I wish they would go throwback for an alternative at times like the pros do. But each their own.

So no one thinks that's just a little over the line? Recruits aren't guaranteed to like every alternate uni you know... it is possible to have an alternate uni that is not likeable which, in this case, definitely is. Alternate unis should look cool and "badass"..not gawdy, tacky and 1970's florida.

To me - it's like talking noise before a game in more of a public manner. I know most might disagree but that's always been my take on it.

Well now that is more or less your opinion since there have been more than one in this thread to say they did like them. So it's not definite that the helmet is not likable. People have different likes and recruits do as well.

It was a natural and enevidible evolution to the gold helmets when we started wearing a "Egg Bowl" special uniform. I have no problem what-so-ever with them. In the context of The Battle for the Golden Egg, they look sharp.

Doesn't look too shabby to me. The one thing I do miss about this game is the dancing egg that used to go across the screen before commercials in the late 90s. Anyone else remember the dancing egg?

especially if we were playing in Oxford, but I think at home it's just making the game fun for the players, fans, and recruits. You know the recruits will have a good time with it.

Good Lord. Just play the damn game.

Don't get me wrong, it does look good, but it's gonna make things just that much more embarrassing if we get beat.

im not a huge fan. opposing chrome on chrome would look better...ie the oregon helmets:



it looks half-way done to me. the sticker looks like an afterthought.

I don't understand this line of thinking. If we lose, I can't imagine anything making the actual loss worse or more "embarrassing," than the actual fact we lost, especially what kind of uniform we have on. Losing sucks, the end. Same deal if we win. It doesn't make the win any better because we wore a different uniform. "Not only did we beat those ********, but we did it in gold helmets by damn!"

I see where DS is coming from in his post that it is like talking trash, but I don't think of it that way. I see it as getting the players as pumped up as possible to win the biggest game of the year.
Nothing to do with OM. It's about the State players being fired up.

Well, they sure as hell didn't work last year. It'll just add on to the trash talk if we lose. "Herka derka, yall get all excited n' stuff for the Egg Bowl and treat it like it's y'alls Super Bowl!! Durr Durr!! Makin' special uniforms!!1! We don't have to do that! We aim higher and don't care about MSU!! Y'all just look stoopid gettin ur *** beat!11!!! durr durr!11!1"

I kind of like maroon helmets even with the maxipad white stripe. Here we go again with the gimmicks.
