Got to watch Raw for a little bit last night with the kids. They loved Enzo and Cass.

AJ and Cena - blah. seen it before just putting AJ in on the Cena vs the world.

Really wish the Shield match would not be at Battleground. Think it needs to be at a bigger PPV. What are they going to do for summerslam?

1. Can't risk injury again. Feel like the Shield 3-way was supposed to be at a couple of big shows in the last two years and all three guys getting injured at some point put an end to the angles.

2. My gut says there will be a controversial finish at Battleground to prompt another match at SummerSlam. Maybe a double pin at Battleground leads to a stipulation match next month? Not sure. They typically don't end big summer feuds before SummerSlam.

3. Brock Lesnar will be at SummerSlam. There's your main event, regardless of opponent or position on the card. Brock Lesnar will draw the show.

First, I cannot believe Reigns was this stupid. Second, I can't believe WWE revealed this considering this thing is a total joke. Am I supposed to believe Ryback and Cena aren't on steroids? Why should I care if any of these guys smoke weed or do drugs? These guys are basically actors. It's not a legitimate sport.

This would be like a studio suspending Bradley Cooper for smoking weed.

He's one of the top merch guys but what people usually go by are house show numbers and apparently those are down, which is pretty silly considering Cena, Orton and Rollins have been out for over six months.

Vince is going to do everything necessary to keep from having a replay of 1994. Lie, cheat and steal to keep from facing a federal grand jury. It looks good when he suspends someone and as others have mentioned Reigns is a failure as a top draw. If he hadn't been getting the same level of gate receipts as Ambrose, who was in smaller venues over the last few months, this would have probably disappeared.

Discussion:

Dave Meltzer did his Wrestling Obersver show this afternoon right after the Reigns suspension was announced. The big takeaway I got was that according to Dave, WWE knew about the failed wellness test going into Money in the Bank.

A first time wellness suspension is 30 days.

Battleground is in 33 days.

If WWE knew about Reigns getting popped, why did they go ahead and announce the 3-way last night on Raw? It would have been just as easy for Rollins to beat Reigns clean and then do a number on him to write him off TV, then have Rollins and Ambrose resume their feud that never had a conclusive ending.

Or is it possible since if the suspension began today, Reigns could get off of suspension in time for the match, that he's still in it? This would be preposterous to me because my guiding principle is actions have consequences. Do Rollins vs. Ambrose, have Roman come back as a bad guy and kill whoever wins, set up your 3-way for SummerSlam.

So I watched the latest Breaking Ground on the Network, which basically went over Wrestlemania Weekend.

Feel awful for Bayley, she was legitimately depressed at the end that she wasn't called up. Im sure Dana Brooke already getting a push isn't helping the cause.

Old Memphis was bonkers every show in Louisville. You can find stories from early Lawler years where heels were chased and jumped or they would make it to their cars but only to be surrounded every single week when feuding with Dundee, Idol, Rich or Hot Stuff.

My dad refused to take me to those shows but always made sure when WWF was in town we went.

I can't wait for those days with my boys.

Most of that is blown out of proportion. I went to my first card on Aug 3, 82 and probably went to 80% of the cards there until 96ish.

Most times, people would wait out back and just call the heels "*** hole" or "***" as they walked to their car.

It's funny you mention that because you know how WWE has Funko pops? Those little basically bobble heads?

They release a batch of six or so yearly, I believe and up until now, the only women ones they had are the Bellas and Paige. Now they're releasing an Eva Marie one to go with the release of KO, Bret Hart, Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt.

That's pretty wild that they release that despite her not having the fanfare of other women on the roster.

not having the fanfare? she's been one of the 'stars' of the E show since the beginning, what 3 or 4 seasons now. only the Bellas have gotten more combined TV time than Eva if you add Total Divas to all other WWE programming.

she will get on the main roster by fall & the push Dana has been getting will be puny by comparison. hell the push Roman got might pale to what Vince will do with Eva.

You could call up Bayley to be Becky's partner against Natty and (insert heel woman). Hell, you're going to have five hours of live programming to fill so add a women's tag team title while you're at it.

I went to a house show in Salt Lake the Friday before MITB. The show was pretty good with AJ/Seth/Roman in a triple threat and Del Rio vs. Ceasaro to kick it off. However, Ziggler wrestled Corbin and Rusev fought Titus. Both matches were completely repeated at MITB.

JHB, I mean she has fanfare by more of the Total Divas crowd in which viewership was awful but she doesn't have any merch at all on WWE's shop. She's gorgeous so it's smart to push her in a way to get her into movies and what not but she doesn't have the fanfare of a Sasha or Batley. At Mania Axxess this year, those two had the most absurd lines for meet and greets.


On an unrelated note, I interviewed Jay Briscoe today to promote ROH's PPV. He's a nice guy but I'd like to know how you end up with that dialect as a white chicken farmer in Delaware.

IIRC it was AJ. It was a good match overall. AJ and Seth teamed up with Seth trying to sneak in a pin when RR would toss AJ out of the ring. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing it as part of a TV storyline but I can see what they're going for with AJ and Cena.

Was hearing yesterday Bayley, Carmella and Nia Jax will be called up to the main roster for the draft.

If you read the SD spoilers for this week, no mention of Reigns suspension and they still have him listed in the main event for Battleground.

Here is the right way to do the brand split -which means WWE won't do this.

• Keep titles exactly the same.
• Raw gets a PPV every other month, in the month Raw has a PPV the champions are on Raw every week and Smackdown once or twice and vice-versa.
• Have a draft rule that allows for talent to be drafted as a tag team if they opt-in as a team. This will allow for a feud when one half of a team doesn't opt-in.
• Either have a tag team count as two picks or have a separate draft for tag teams.
• Use the "snake" or 1 - 23- 45- 67, etc draft style.
• Use the IC as Raw's house show title, US as Smackdown's.
• Allow for contracts, free agents, and trades.
• Don't do computers, if you're not drafted you're a free agent.
  
• Never do another draft ever again.

WWE was ridiculous for ever making this public. I don't even think an entertainer should get suspended for weed or if it was some type of steroid. It's a scripted show. However, if they were going to suspend him, they should have kept it in house and then written him off TV somehow with an injury.

Then build Battleground as Rollins vs Ambrose and then have Reigns come back and lay everyone out with chair shots and taunt the crowd and POOF...you have a big heel, you have a triple threat match and you now have a big babyface and you'll probably have a crowd that likes Reigns more.

Why doesn't anyone bring this stuff up to them before they do it?

If they are going to do 2 PPV's a month they need to bring back War Games.
