Bu bu but he isn't a heel! It's the damn smarcky fans hijacking everything.......stupid losers.

I stand by the statement when I made it. Pre Daniel Bryan fans hijacking, he was a face and got good pops. Go back and check for yourself on the Network.

Now? It's a lost cause and it's made even worse by the Wellness stuff

IIRC, Reigns got solid pops until the hernia surgery. Then he came back about as over as babyface MVP. The Royal Rumble that year was when the fans turned on him hardcore.

Just having some good old fashioned fun at your expense.

Those dumbasses in Georgia used that bull rope angle......then the Koloffs made it a big badass chain connecting them at the neck.

Good stuff.

The Rumble in Philly is where things started going south for him. First because it was leaked out months prior that he was going to win. Second because they rushed Daniel Bryan back and put him in it.

I think when it was leaked that he was going to win it caused many older fans to turn on him. The night of the Rumble in Philly is when a lot more fans jumped on it because they wanted to see Bryan win.

Then it was just the nonstop effort by VKM to get him over as face that did him in.

Yeah, pretty much sums it up.

WWE should play things closer to the chest to avoid leaks. The Bryan thing made it way worse though. The guy was coming back from being the WWE champ, which only happened because the fans demanded it and you think it's a good idea to do this to get Reigns over?

Regardless, the Wellness policy killed the build up for the most anticipated match in years. Reigns will never be the same.

In my opinion it is Crazy Old Grandpa's fault. All they had to do was have Daniel Bryan come out the night after the Royal Rumble instead of before saying he was going to win the Rumble. When that didn't happen it was over.

There might still be some hating on Reigns but not like there has been.

They never got how popular Daniel Bryan was, and judging by that pop last night, still is.

Hopefully the new belt looks like a championship belt and not a cartoon depiction of one

I like the current belt. I've liked all of the WWE title belts except for the Cena spinner belt (horrendous). I kind of prefer Ring of Honor style belts though.

Reigns biggest issue is he should have went over Batista the year before at the Rumble

He was white hot that night. WWE blew it on a part timer. And Batista was GREAT during all of that.

^ Yeah, WWE was very stupid with that mindset. If you had no intention of him winning, you gained nothing by him being in the rumble. That night created a stigma with Reigns and dictated the storylines for a year.

I think Brock being part-time really hurt everything as well. They lost out on momentum to capitalize on with guys like Ziggler as well. In reality, they could have had Bryan come back the night after Rumble to challenge Brock for the title. Build that up to make Fast Lane even better or simply scratch the Rollins/Cena/Brock (amazing match) storyline.

Everything would have been solved. Bryan would have been in the title picture immediately and got a match with Brock. Fans would have been happy. Brock goes over. Bryan moves on for the IC feud. Reigns is then no longer looked at as the guy who stopped Bryan's push.

I think the problem is a mixture of Vince's ego and writers who don't come from the business or necessarily understand the business.

Another off topic...best live match i ever saw was Stan Hanson vs Dusty Rhodes in a cowbell match at Hara Arena in Dayton.

I saw Vader at Lexington ComicCon a couple of years ago. Someone asked him about his favorite matches and he said something along the lines of "Anyone who says wrestling doesn't hurt has never wrestled Stan Hansen"

That's why Hansen was so over in Japan. His stiff style was perfect for that market and audience.

Gonna be real awkward when neither Shinsuke or Joe is drafted, but what can they do? Have to sell their Takeover match somehow

Got something right.

Nak, Joe, Bayley, Aries, Roode, Asuka

All still in NXT

Mojo, Alexa, Nia, American Alpha, Balor, Carmella drafted

So is Raw going to have the tag titles, the women's division, the US title and the cruiserweight division? I know they're the longer show but they got a whole bunch more than Smackdown did. I'm guessing if Ambrose stays champion we're most likely going to have Cena vs. Ambrose at SS?

It would have even out well if SD got Owens. Kayfabe Cole said it best when he said KO was the wild card. But from the top SD is better with Orton/Ambrose/Styles and you throw in Cena and Bray... not bad.

I think Rollins the way he goes will get hurt again, but he gives fans a show.

Yeah, I think Smackdown really needed KO or have gotten Lesnar who could be thrown in there once in awhile for a change of scenery. I'm just afraid it will be Cena and Ambrose (if they both stay face) vs. The tag team of whatever heels they're facing every week. I don't really care about any of their mid-card guys either besides Ziggler. Another thing I'm worried about is repeat feuds. We were already getting enough of that before they split the roster. Also, I know it sounds silly but the whole thing with them not using a different stage or ropes for Smackdown doesn't make it seem like it's a whole other show than Raw, especially with them being on back-to-back nights.

Word a few weeks ago was that NXT was going to be gutted, seems they thought better of it.

For kayfabe purposes they should have made Joe & Asuka ineligible and allowed Regal to protect one talent per draft pick. Makes Bayley look like a kayfabe chump. Hell, Mojo being picked makes everyone look awful.

For all the build up to this and the over selling of Smackdown Live they sure did screw Smackdown. The top four are legit, but after that it's a bunch of midcard guys that I don't think anyone sees going anywhere. So, Smackdown is still Smackdown...it's just live now.
Hopefully there will be some moves in the near future or debuts to even things out, but as for now, Raw is still the superior show in every way.

Is this real life or kayfabe? No matter what he's right and I hope he gets pushed soon I bet he will get himself over.

He probably went real life there honestly. At certain point it doesn't pay to give AF and for Cesaro that time should have passed already.

Interesting note from last night, they had "I'm a Hugger" signs given out to the crowd for Bayley yet she never got drafted.

My guess is she will be Sasha Banks' mystery partner on Sunday, because Banks has been saying in interviews all week she won't be.

I like how Smackdown fared last night. Raw got a guy coming off a wellness violation and one who is probably going to be suspended.

Friend that sent me that & said. "Ceasro is damn near shooting."

Announce teams getting shaken up a little too.

Raw - Cole, Saxton, Graves

SD - Ranallo, JBL, Lawler

Smackdown got the short end last night in my opinion . The top four of Ambrose, Styles, Cena, and Orton are legit but there is not much else. Would have liked to have seen Ownes on SD, think he will stay in Midcard hell on Raw now.

I just saw this posted on another site, according to this Lawler is out.

Raw: Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton.

Smackdown: Mauro Ranallo, JBL and David Otunga.

WWE Superstars: Tom Phillips and Corey Graves.

WWE Main Event: Tom Phillips and David Otunga.

So couple of random thoughts from scanning the draft picks...

Summer Rae got drafted ahead of Braun Strouman - prob not a good outlook for the Wyatt Family as a whole but I'm sure Bray is in line for a nice push.

Balor/Anderson/Gallows all on RAW and AJ got drafted to Smackdown - coincidence or does AJ get booted out of The Club now that Balor got the callup and he becomes the new leader of The Club?

I was happy for Ambrose to get the clean pin. It gives him some legitimacy. I think Reigns will be the victim of a double pin at Battleground so they can split the belt. Maybe Reigns' being punished some more. Reading crazy grand pa's mind keeps getting harder...

^^^ I heard that too...interesting if that is what he got suspended for.

I know there was a lot of interesting around the Draft but Smackdown actually did more viewers than Raw this week. 3,170,000 to 3,133,000

[eyeroll] at WWE if so. What a crock of ****.
There was a rumor a few weeks before Reigns' suspension that Crazy Grand Pa had soured on Reigns' push maybe this suspension is part of that.

You know the face that runs the place isn't going down for Adderall.

Is adderall the new WWE cocaine or something? As in, do the boys do it like they did coke in the 80s?

That was Adam Rose's drug of choice too. He tried to get a doctor's note. [laughing]

More CWC talk coming up.

Akira Tozawa is really good and I'm glad they're positioning him to be one of the favorites to win this thing. I didn't think Kenneth Johnson sucked, but it was clear that he was pretty green and Tozawa made him look great.

TJ Perkins vs. Da Mack was really fun. Perkins is a proven commodity from his tenure in ROH and his various runs in TNA. I liked Mack too. He's too entertaining not to stick around, even if he ends up a job guy.

Lince Dorado vs. Mustafa Ali was my favorite match of the episode. Came away very impressed by both guys. I think Lince faces Tajiri in the next round, so hopefully they have a fraction of the chemistry Tajiri had with Super Crazy.

I can't wait for this thing to really start heating up. We still haven't seen Zack Sabre Jr. yet, and again, if you haven't seen him before, he's probably the best technical wrestler in the world and one of the 2-3 best wrestlers in the world, period. Best pure technician I've seen since Regal.
