Forgot about RoboCop and Sting. Good call. Those few years of WCW had some awful ideas, and the Stinger was in most of them.

The Final Deletion is right up there with them. To the point that I am ashamed to say I watched it, because TNA seeing people are watching and talking about it, think that they have something with it. The only thing they have with it is a steaming pile of ****. If that's the best they got, someone please do the right thing and end that company. It's suffered enough.

So there are reports that Bray Wyatt injured his ankle during Smackdown and may be out several weeks. Damn dude cannot catch a break.

re: Matt Hardy

Had totally forgotten about that video.

Personally I think the "Broken" Matt Hardy character is great. Something totally different - even with the horrible acting.

He is all in on it. He was in full character on Talk is Jericho yesterday.

Which makes me wonder what Vince thinks of Jericho having him on his show.

I actually saw the Bray match and saw him get injured in real time. I rewound it because I thought he might have actually broken his lower leg. Zigler went for a sunset flip type of thing and Bray's leg got caught under him. He favored it the rest of the match. How he was still able to do that upside down walking thing was impressive. Looked like the dreaded high ankle sprain.

agree completely. glad someone in this so called sport is trying something new rather than run out there with the same character/gimmic/move set they broke in using in front of 25 at an elementary school cafeteria.

Too early for some CWC thoughts? Well here they are anyway BANG NEVER SAW IT COMING.

Rich Swann has that Kofi Kingston/Shelton Benjamin thing where he's too athletically impressive not to catch on. I worry he's a bit small, but he's just so smooth. And Jason Lee wasn't bad either. The match just was cut a bit too short to adequately showcase both guys. Wish I could come up with a "too athletic not to catch on" wrestler who wasn't black, but I guess I'll just be racist instead. Jack Evans, maybe? Swann needs a better finisher, preferably a top rope one.

Swann and Lince Dorado could have one of the sneakier good matches of the 2nd round. I think they'll mesh well.

Noam Dar wasn't as bad as he looked in his match. I've seen a lot of his stuff from Progress Wrestling in the UK and he's really good. Those two brothers from India...not sure either was that good.

Dar vs. Hoho Lun in the 2nd round is interesting. I think you'll see a better side of Dar and I loved the way Lun sold in his opening match.

Jack Gallagher vs. Fabian Aichner would have been the best match of the show on most shows. I really enjoy the British style of wrestling and so Aichner was a good opponent for Gallagher because they said he was trained by Steve Wright (aka Alex Wright's dad), and you could really tell. Aichner did a lot of Alex Wright's smooth Euro-style counters. Gallagher was tremendous. A little small, but so technically good. And that full speed dropkick in the corner was a killer finisher.

Gallagher faces Akira Tozawa in the 2nd round. Can't wait for this one. Love when there's a clash in styles. I'm expecting a win for Tozawa, but I'm not as sure as I was before I watched Gallagher tonight.

Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa is no joke one of the best matches I've seen this year. I prefer Tommaso because I think his style translates to the big picture better than Johnny's does and I love the hard strikes (and his finisher - SHEW), but Gargano did a great job selling everything and getting over as a tough dude. Really good story of friends who have to destroy each other to advance in the tournament, reminded me of Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect at 1993 King of the Ring, which is my favorite match of either one of those guys. And it was good to see Gargano get a bit of fluke win to show how even both guys are. Perfect way to book a face vs. face match, especially with the interaction at the end.

Gargano gets TJ Perkins in the 2nd round. I feel like they've positioned Perkins for a deep run in this thing, but I kind of hope Johnny advances, even though that's NXT favoritism.

Next week's second round only has two matches, which I'm looking forward to because it means the guys will get more time. Tajiri vs. Gran Metallik should be great as long as Metallik can take a pounding and fight back. We all know Tajiri can work the Lucha style. If Metallik can return the favor and work Japanese style, this will be great.

Then...watch Cedric Alexander vs. Kota Ibushi, please. I've hinted at knowing a little about this one. You have to trust me - it might be your match of the year for 2016.

Guys, it's worth the free month to watch these CWC shows. Heck, it's worth the 9.99.

My guess would be Lesnar and Orton would go on last.

Great comments on the CWC BKH, watched this week's show last night and wow it was just awesome. The Ciampa-Gargano match was off the charts great.

I can't decide if Bobby Roode's NXT music is the best or worst thing I have ever heard. Kind of like Christian's music back in the mid 2000's.

I had totally forgotten about the Matt Hardy thing a few years ago, but I like this new character is awesome.

Jesus actually wants to know about ADR, Sin Cara, and Kalisto.

NJPW on AXS is sweet. So far matches are old and presented without angles. I dig Kenny Omega. Like the press conferences after the matches. LMAO at Gallows cursing during matches.

Booker T never got any respect like he should have. Only got pushed in WCW once the company went down hill, and his run with the WWE from 2002-06 was underrated.

This guy should be ranked on everyones list as a top 40 wrestler ever. No love for the Booker!!!

So his run with one of the best tag teams ever equals not getting respect? I mean he came up everywhere as a tag guy.

Bookers best of 7 series with Benoit (balls /Sterling Archer ) cemented him as a talent.

When HHH buried him fans revolted.

Safe to say that he's respected and beloved by fans.

I thought most everyone in the business loved booker. Even got pissed when they did the Russo-esque angle that brought up his real life run in with the law.

Kinda funny who people in the business love. I've heard Joey Mercury gets high praise from a lot of folks.

Bobby Eaton went missing last night and was described as "confused".

Does he have dementia or some other neurological disorder? A relatively recent interview I saw of him was sort of incoherent but I guess I didn't know it was that bad

Damn. Hope all is ok and he's found quickly.

That's my fear with foley. As many shots to the dome as he has taken, afraid he will develop dementia from it.

It always amazed how Foley could cut an awesome promo AFTER getting pummeled in the ring or after a brutal match.

If he winds up with dementia, it could be very dangerous for his caregivers.

That is probably one of my biggest pet peeves about the wrong person winning a match. Booker T should have won that WM18 match against Hunter. It was so obvious that is was the right call but Triple H is Triple H.

They found Bobby Eaton at the Atlanta airport. I don't know about dementia but I read that is isn't the first time this has happened.

HHH pretty much buried everyone from 2000-2005, wasn't until Batista at WM 21 and then Cena the next year he started putting people over.

I have pretty much forgiven him since he gives us the best hour (now two) or wrestling every week.

Triple H gets forgiven the same way HBK got forgiven for being a huge prick in the 90's. The older Hunter got, the more he took himself out of the main picture and started to put the young talent over. Now, it seems he is all about putting the young talent over. Even though he put the strap on himself last year, the end result was to get Roman over. Even though it failed, and people wanted Triple H to win, he did the right thing.

That said, yes, there was a 5-6 year span of his career that instead of a sledgehammer he might as well have had a shovel.

Well, he put Roman over, but he was definitely trying to get some babyface pops during that feud.

Shelton Benjamin, who was scheduled to return to WWE as part of Smackdown Live, announced on twitter that he has a torn rotator in his shoulder and he will not be returning to WWE. It looks like the injury came up as Benjamin was going through the standard medical tests in Pittsburgh. It’s similar to the shoulder injury that John Cena suffered earlier this year but Cena had a partial tear. This injury will likely keep Benjamin out of action through the end of this year and probably a few months into 2017.

I think Triple H started down the path to righteousness when he did the job clean in the middle of the ring to Chris Benoit at WM 20. By and large he's done the right thing since then. Of course that didn't help Kurt Angle (twice), Chris Jericho (twice), Kane, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Scott Steiner, Goldberg, Jeff Hardy...

Now then...he did bury the ever-loving crap out of CM Punk in 2011 and tried the hardest he could to kick Punk's leg out of his leg. We got an 18-month Punk title reign out of it, though. Punk will be to Triple H what Bruno was to Vince, in that it will take the next generation to mend that fence. Clearly they still don't like each other if you listen to either of them do interviews. Triple H is at the point where he'll talk about anything in interviews and he cringes when Punk is brought up.

Topic: Most underrated wrestler? Most overrated wrestler?

Most underrated: Randy Savage

Most overrated: Shane Douglas

Yes, Macho Man is one of the greats. Still underrated to me. Did he do anything that wasn't awesome? Yet gets lost in the discussion of the era because of Hogan and Warrior.

If I gotta pick just one underrated, Scott Hall. At least Macho got some big belt run. Hall, to me, is the greatest never to have it. Plus, he got outshined in the NWO by both Nash and Hogan.

Overrated:Ultimate Warrior. Yes, he had the look, kids loved him, and he was over as a mf'er. However, looking back, dude just sucked. He was winded after his entrance and would blow up in a match early. If he wasn't squashing someone, he looked awful in the ring. Worked stiff and dangerous, I think Andre legit wanted to kill him for working stiff. Plus, his promos sounded like someone tripping on acid. I admit, as a kid, I ate it up. Today, I hate myself for ever buying it.

Underrated I would say either Arn Anderson, Jake Roberts or Rick Rude, if I have to pick one will go with Arn

Overrated: I don't think Hogan or Warrior were ever considered good workers but I would say Warrior. Other than the two WM matches with Hogan and Savage and the Summerslam match with Rude I can't think of another good Warrior match.

Arn made my list as well, but I took Hall over Arn because of the Horsemen and being Flair's right hand man.

Mr. Perfect made my list too. He's another that if not for the shadow of Hogan could have been a multi time champ and face of a company.

My views of HHH have definitely softened over the years thanks to his role as an executive. The CWC is one of my favorite things they've done in the last decade. I'm not as high on NXT as many are because of, IMO, too much emphasis on the women, but they did bring in some guys I loved in TNA for years.

As a performer, HHH was THE reason I quit watching WWE from 2002-2006. I became a TNA loyalist for a brief time back then. I just got tired of Monday Night HHH.

To BKH's topic:

Most underrated: Jake Roberts - Great promo. Great gimmick. BEST storyteller. Should've gotten a WWF title run

Most overrated: Hulk Hogan. What? Yes, he was a great creation that led to the wrestling boom of the 80s and his heel turn helped create the wrestling boom of the mid/late 90s. But, he was a bad wrestler and his ego and "stroke" led me to non-kayfabe hate his guts starting about mid-97.

Underrated has to be Jake and Overrated has to be Nash.

Anyone think they do a Balor/Rollins double turn with Gallows/Anderson joining up with Balor since all 3 are on RAW and AJ is on Smackdown? Then you possibly have Rollins chasing the belt until Wrestlemania.

Most underrated: Could go so many ways. Underrated as in not getting a shot with the strap but still being very over like Hall, Owen Hart, Rude, Arn, and Roberts? Or guys who checked all of the boxes but just never got as over as he should have like Jeff Jarrett, Blandy Orton, Kerry Von Erich outside of Dallas, etc.? Or guys who get tons of love, but should be loved even more like Macho, Hogan, Austin...Bret?

I'll do a top 3 and try to avoid those already mentioned just to get some more names out there: Raven, Earthquake/John Tenta, and Ted DiBiase

Most Overrated: I'll do the most overrated among all fans and most overrated among smart fans.

All fans: HBK. When he turned it on he was the second coming of Ric Flair, but he has too many "meh" matches to deserve the title of best wrestler ever that many give him. He was just too inconsistent IMO

Smart fans: Mike Awesome. Eff him. He was big and athletic. That's cool and all, but he also was terrible at working a match and just generally does absolute nothing for me. His Masato Tanaka match gets so much love and I think it is straight garbage. There, I said it.

Welp. The thread's biggest Bret Hart fan thinks Shawn Michaels is overrated. We really should do a podcast or something, because we respectfully disagree on everything, plus Centre/Transy and stuff.

<--- Tanaka mark. Tanaka can actually have matches, as opposed to Mike Awesome, who can only have a Mike Awesome match, which consists of being reckless and dropping guys on their heads.
