I for one was extremely pleased KO won last night, didn't care for HHH interfering but happy none the less.

Give the CI Wrestling Thread the book, Exhibit #8,972,071,694,358,262.

Seriously. I believe in us. We can do it.
I have no doubts we could turn out a product better than we get now. If I ever win the Powerball when it is at like 500 million, first thing I'm doing is calling Dixie Carter. Next thing I'm doing is making most of this thread creative/booking.

I've been trying to talk a buddy of mine into renting a warehouse and buying a wrestling ring. Hell we could start our own promotion here in central/south, Kentucky.

Fun fact: There is a place in Lawrenceburg, KY that makes the rings....pretty cool.

I just figured HHH was going to pedigree Owens too and cover both Owens and Rollins and walk out with the belt like he did at Royal Rumble.

To this day, I wish someone had the means to buy WCW and hire Heyman to just do the book. TNA never happens, and WWE would still have legit competition.

The problem was that TimeWarner wanted nothing to do with it once they bought out Turner. Rather than sell WCW for what it was worth they gave away a lot of stuff and just shut it down...dumb move, but hey, it's TimeWarner.

They would just pipe the noise they wanted you to hear in like they did with Reigns earlier in the match.

Even when the pipe the noise in you can still hear the true noise in the background or just watch the facial expressions. Just imagine this thread and many others if that had happened last night. lol

The Time Warner dude hated wrestling so much that he would have pulled the plug on WCW even if they were putting up 1997 numbers at the time.

I do wish Bischoff and his company could have struck up a relationship with some TV company because they did have the money to buy WCW, just no TV deal.

More than anything, I wish Starrcade 1997 had been booked in the opposite manner of how it actually was, where the heels won (or "won" in Hogan's case) EVERY match on the card. Learn biggest show of the year, fellas.

Yeah, but I guarantee had someone came in with a good offer to trump Vince's $2mil offer, they would have told Vince to go get pumped. In the real world Vince would have probably won out just to sling his caulk around and say he killed them, but that's why I said I wish it could have happened.

I've already given my opinion on the Hogan match of 97 with my NWO fantasy booking a while back. That match never should have happened. Sting needed to still be away from WCW, and the NWO running wild.

The opponent for that Starrcade should have been Hart, and if you wanted Hogan having the belt at the end of the night, you make Bret look like Superman beating the **** out of the entire NWO. However he eats blue dozen eleven finishers, and is laid out in the ring. In doing this, you offset it by having faces win in the undercard. I honestly don't remember what the undercard was, but whatever it was, faces win, or go over in some way.

Oh the things you find on the net.

Also you need to recognize the brilliance of Jericho. Since March he has been a great heel...

can't figure out why people are blaming Rollins for Balor's injury.....if Balor hadn't reached back and just took the barricade shot to the back, he wouldn't have injured his shoulder.

Because that's how you take a barricade/turnbuckle bump facing backwards. You hook your arms over the barricade/top rope and take the contact to your upper back. Balor did what you are supposed to do.

Add that with Rollins did it to Sting (Twice in the same match), he either doesn't know how to safely do the spot, or is reckless doing the spot. Either way, he shouldn't be doing the spot if that is the outcome.

I think it was Balor's first time wrestling him but you could tell that Balor had no idea where he was and looked back to see. It's a dangerous bump.

I think I've figured it out.

HHH was mad at Rollins for hurting his NXT guy, Balor. HHH picked another NXT guy to hold the title and we're getting a NXT invasion.
Well, that's my fantasy booking, at least.

I honestly can't say I've watched NXT since I don't have the network but from watching them prior to NXT they need to get Joe,Nakaumra and Roode on the main rosters and the sooner the better.

For all I care they can send Sheamus down there because he is so boring and I fast forward through all his matches.

Also send Dana Brooke down there too since she is just a jobber that interferes in Charlotte's matches and can't wrestle at all.

Really good read on ESPN's 538 on Japan and WWE. Too stupid to link, but a really great read. Even down to the Japanese wrestler getting his move back that he invented, and Punk used.

I read that theory on my twitter feed last night too. That's a dope storyline.

Anyways, I poorly made this last night just to show some perspective on the greatness of Ring of Honor and how they make stars.

And you know A.J. will be on there soon.

Creative or HHH came to a decision that while they were giving the internet fan what they want that they needed an out just it case it doesn't go over. Enter HHH giving it to KO instead of him earning it that way IF they have to take it back quickly they can and still keep KO heelish enough to mean something.

That is the only reason they went the way they did. Even though it really comes off as HHH needing to inject himself in the booking, he has become Vince in that he has to be involved to a degree to give things legitimacy.

I also don't think him winning the title at the Royal Rumble was a selfish move. It was basically their only play at that point.

What's the story with KO and Cornette or is it HHH/Cornette (in which case I assume bitterness and jealously about someone with more success).

My HHH-Rollins angle? Rollins is always hugging Steph. HHH don't care for Rollins touching his wife. Steph is flattered that a young guy pays attention after she spat out kids while her husband works constantly, but she doesn't go there. Blur the lines, make Steph sympathetic.
I agree I think they are going to play the jealousy angle with HHH. A young gun who has his finisher and now wants his wife. There are plenty of ways to play it but I think that was Stephanie's "I think I am going to cry look" as HHH walked out

He already hates Reigns so that wasn't a big deal.

It's a shame ROH has gone into a bit of a funk since Rollins and Owens left. Closest thing they have to a guy getting a world title now is Mike Bennett, who is a fine wrestler, but a significant step below all those guys, and also in TNA.

Also, to each his own, but I give AJ Styles credit for AJ Styles. He was already a TNA star by the time he hit it big in ROH, but then at the same time, TNA basically treated him like WCW treated Sting, pretty much casting him off every time a new ex-WWE guy came into the fold, making every effort to bury him and put him in the background, screw him at every turn. And he's still here. AJ Styles is the best.

Bennett is with TNA.

I think Jay Briscoe, Jay Lethal, Adam Cole and Bobby Fish are good. I think Hangman Page is going to get there down the line as well.

In something that I guess would resemble the NWA of the late 80's ROH announced today they are going to have a World 6-man title. Tournament to begin next month.

Was looking at this list, some pretty good names there. Since the promotion started in 2002 they have only had 23 champions. Think WCW had that in about two months in the year 2000.

I like Cornette. (Also saddened to know he likes UL)

I think the dude's a great wrestling mind, is entertaining and his politics obviously don't bother me at all, although I could see why it would be a turn off for some.

As for last night's Raw:

Count me as loving Owens with the Universal strap. Count me as also not loving the way it went down. I'm probably the most anti-HHH person here, but I'll give them a chance to explain it. I just hope Owens doesn't have to be the classic chicken **** heel that every other first-time champ heel is booked as.

This on AJ. I remember years ago, when I worked my first TNA house show, AJ was on the card, and was the first talent in the building that day. As soon as the ring was up, he was in it running his spots for his match.

Al Snow was the agent for the show, and he had Al come over and work with him a while. After he left the ring, he still stayed and watched as others ran through their spots and was learning from them.

During the show, he sat next to me at the tech booth and watched all the matches and was paying attention to crowd reactions and what got fans excited. Dude just busted his *** the entire day, and I got the feeling he did the same thing every day.

Nick F'n Patrick, though. Trained as a wrestler, still took bumps like this. Awesome.
