I'll fess-up and say I haven't watched Kentucky play much this season...... but from what I have seen, and most of what I seen is here just recently, is that there are a couple of things I believe the Mountaineers will have to do to win this thing.

First, is to shoot well, especially from the perimeter, they're just too damn big and athletic on the inside, and they play very good defense overall, which reflects their athleticism.

Next, is to limit their transition offense which is simply outstanding, from driving to the basket for the layup to pulling up for the jumper and making it they can do it all, again reflecting their athleticism.

It'll be one hell of a challenge, but yeah, it can happen.

1-3-1 halfcourt trap....that'll be the key for WVU.

I'm not convinced that a full court press will work against a team that big and that athletic...but let them cross halfcourt and our chances for turnovers materially improve, I think. The trap takes the ball out of the guards' hands and puts it in the hands of tall 3s and 4s who aren't the best ball handlers or passers.

Cats were bored the first two rounds. In fact they were bored the entire regular season just showing excitement when playing the other Blue Blood schools. If you follow college basketball you know how those games went. They have been ready for the tournament to start for months. Just keep the volume lvl down and hope they sleep through the game looking forward to the final four. If you all bash Cal or talk too much trash your just going to wake them up. Good luck!

Hell, you don't 'get-it' do you....... we're Mountaineers, we want to play this bunch and we want their best shot. We want to COMPETE and you can bet your *** we'll bring the best we've got and most certainly expect Kentucky to do the same.

Good Grief, my man...... just bring it.

You most certainly do NOT want Kentucky to "bring their best." If that happens, this game is over in the first ten minutes. Ask Kansas or UCLA. Your only hope at winning is for Kentucky to **** the bed. The only thing WV can do is play at a high level and hope Kentucky doesn't. End of story.

Lol at you silly Errs thinking WVU can beat UK. Like I said, UK could lose any game, but it won't be based on anything the other team does. It will be because they played terribly.

lol Nice preemptive strike in case they lose. Nothing like a 2 teamer fan talking smack. When 1 of your team sucks (which is all the time) you can just use the blue blood to back you up. Douchebaggery at its finest.

Wow. Such arrogance. It must be an empty feeling knowing the only thing your team can do every year to surprise you is lose. That does not seem fun or rewarding to me.

So, is that how you will get yourself through it if you lose? You will just say the best team didn't win and just chalk it up to a bad day for your team, giving WVU no credit. This is typical of arrogant ignorance.

You are such a coward...... nobody is even remotely saying Kentucky is not a great team, hell, that's the very reason you want to play them. The difference between guys like you and guys like me is that I want to play the best at their best. Gutless chicken-***** are always looking for an excuse or a reason to not compete or lose and are not even remotely willing to give it their all.

Never could stand to even be around guys like that, never wanted to play with them on a team or play against them on an opposing team.

Are the Mountaineers going to beat the 'Cats? Probably not, they're that good and yeah we know the difference, but by god it's not going to be because they're not going to give every damn thing they've got to try and beat them.

Thunder is a good guy. Too bad more people don't like perfection. I am talking of going 40-0. History right in front of our eyes. I watched their every game. They have really improved on the offensive end. Earlier in the year ky had spells of not being able to score. HECK Columbia had us down 16. Texas a@m should have beat ky. These kids are great unselfish kids. It's something like this 9 players averaging 9 a game. If wv beats them I hope they win it all. I'm 54 and wv needs to win a title. It will come quicker in basketball.

I'm with Huggins

WVU just has to do what it does best, which is harass the hell out of opponents' ball-handlers and scrap like hell for rebounds.

If it fails, then so has everyone else who played Kentucky. But if it works, it will be remembered alongside Jim V's miracle national title.

But for such a young team to be In the Sweet Sixteen is awesome. Huggins deserved Big 12 Coach of the Year honors.

Now, let's enjoy the game as teams from two hillbilly (allegedly) states collide.

Coward? I hope WV plays its best, that way the game is at least watchable. That being said, if WV plays their best and UK plays their best, I like Kentucky's chances 99.9% of the time. As for Kentucky being the only team that can beat Kentucky - that's not a "pre-emptive strike," or whatever you called it. It's a fact. I know it, you know it, and the pundits know it. Come late Thursday I have a feeling the bravado and ******** being speed on this board will be non-existent.

Well, the Mountaineers and their fans surely wouldn't want you to have change your channel and watch "The Young and The Restless" and then run on back to wherever the hell it is you come from and pound your little chicken-**** chest and say I told you so........ look, you clown, the Mountaineers play some of the best competition in the nation year in and year out. We know the difference and most certainly don't need somebody like you who's still afraid of the F'N Booger-man to tell us not only what we already know not because some ***-wipe says so. The Mountaineers and their fans are well aware what good talent and good competition is because we've experienced both many times, we respect it, and we know the F'N difference....... and that's neither 'bravado' or '********'.

So run along now and show everybody in your circles your bracket selections and how you picked the Mountaineers to be opposite Kentucky in a Sweet Sixteen Game this Thursday night........

Touched a nerve, have I? Tell you what - I'm going to have some "interwebs tough guy" stickers made up. I'll be sure to send you one. As for the "young and the restless," I've heard of it, but never watched. Since you seem to know so much about it, perhaps you can fill me in on the plot. I might switch it over once Kentucky is up 20+. It would have to be more entertaining than watching cHuggs and his moo-moo waddle up and down the sidelines in a drunken stupor.

It absolutely is a preemptive strike. It's pretty much the textbook definition of it. I guess I should realize it is pointless arguing with people who root for multiple teams anyway. Especially those who use the "blue blood" to back their other team that is sh**y. You are the worst type of fan.

I've always been a fan of Huggins. His teams against UL when at UC were fun to watch and did their part to defeat the dirty birds. But when Miles said those things he stated, all that went out the window. Thank you for rekindling the fire and bringing back the sheer joy of getting pumped for a game.

Any sports fan knows anything is possible. That's a given. I was quite nervous, as I am for a lot of games, but the trash talking done by a freshman at WVU, somehow has re-assured me that now it will take an epic game by WV to make it close. For the life of me, why would a foe light the fuse of the top team in the country. But we will take it, and it is appreciated.

Ironically, when most any team loses, its seldom the case that they played their best ball and the other team was just plain 'ole better from top to bottom....sometimes, but seldom. Almost always it is the case that the losing team contributes greatly to their own loss, either by poor shooting, stupid decisions (often times created by the other team) at unfortunate times or sometimes merely from turnovers. To say that Kentucky won't be beat unless they beat themselves is well.........duh?! I can probably counter that by saying that if WVU doesn't beat themselves, then Kentucky won't beat them either.

If Kentucky does "beat themselves", it will be at least in some small part due to an effect brought forth by WVU. I think the stars will have to be aligned to come out on top of Kentucky....but it's certainly possible and an outcome that I am hoping to see come true.
