Citizens... or 'customers'?

There is no apparent role for Congress in the administration's other new venture, the creation of an executive office dedicated to applying private sector (read: profit-driven) standards to government. The "White House Office of American Innovation" will be run by Trump's son-in-law and trusted adviser, Jared Kushner.

Corporate jockeys of all types refer to the people they serve as their "customers". Posting this quote from Kushner is no big deal as that is his frame of mind and is just showing his background.

Plenty to criticize this horrific Administration but you missed your mark on this one.

I'd like to consider my "voluntary" contributions to U.S.A. Inc. as "investments" Best Virginia, and I want to see a decent ROI for my "contributions".

As as a shareholder, I'm upset with the waste, fraud, and abuse and ultimate endless deficits I see as a result of ongoing operations. I support oversight of those dollars being expended, and I insist on fiscal accountability of our "contributions" so we can be reasonably assured that our "investments" are paying desired "dividends".

The alternative is involuntary confiscatory taxation and loss of control over what we earn through income redistribution ceded to an all powerful IRS that can decide arbitrarily what we owe or are required to pay through a bizarre and hopelessly complicated tax code which no one understands, everyone manipulates, and no one can adequately administer without creating billions more in waste, fraud, or abuse to catch cheaters & non filers.
