The kids at LWN will adjust. They will play where the bus drops them off. The adults are the ones making it a big deal.
LWE will be fine. remember when they split LWC & LWE? LWE made the playoffs its first year with all juniors. All North Frankfort Square kids and Mokena kids went to East. Losing the Mokena kids will hurt but I still think they will be okay.
My cousins son is a 2nd string lineman (offense) on LWE. He is one of the kids that has to transfer to LWC for his senior year. On the one hand this may lead to more playing time next year but all his friends that he played with thru high school will be scattered. His father wonders why they couldn't have grandfathered the Senior Class next year and let them all graduate from LWE.
Also never understood why LWC wasn't closed as it is the districts (by far and away) oldest facility.
On a side note to lwedad, did we have a correspondence a couple years back about you being a graduate of St.Francis DeSales? or is that my imagination.

To answer your question about Central closing, The school district was told by the state that they will probably have to close two schools. They are trying to do one and hope its enough. If they have to close two schools, then Central and East are the schools that can hold all of the kids. If Central was closed, and they had to reopen it, they would have to bring the school up to today's codes which would cost millions. If they leave it opened, it would be grandfathered in.
As I said before, this is not done with yet and West may have to close sometime in the near future.

thank god DeSales gave up football it was a yearly embarrassment. A couple years ago I called into the Friday night HS show Laurence Holmes had on the SCORE with the news SFDS finally won a game, he laughed because he too is an alum
whatever happened to him? He was talking big things at HF and I believe he left for Hinsdale Central?

I don't know how closely you have actually been following this situation, if you have attended any of the board meetings over the past three months, have personally read the available documentation or have spoken personally with any of the board members?
In any case, Mark Anderson of the ISBE has been quoted saying they never told the district anything about " closing two schools".
And had LWC been temporarily been closed the "grandfathering to escape current safety standards" would not have been an issue because the district offices are housed in that building, so it was never going to completely shut down.

In an article in the Tribune on July 17th, it was stated "The district must submit a Deficit Reduction Plan to the Illinois State Board of Education by September and deficit spending must be reduced within a three-year time period, Mark Anderson, of ISBE told the board at a prior meeting. The state will step in if there is no plan or if the district does not follow the plan, he said."
If the state stepped in, my understanding us that they would close both North and West because that is what Dr Tingley said.
In May, Dr Tingley was quoted in the paper saying "Tingley said if Lincoln-Way is unable to significantly reduce its deficits, within two or three years it will be placed on a financial oversight panel, at which point the state will close two schools. "

whatever, love HS football. i'm retired (look @ my post time) Cain':t wait to Saturday night, might have to give up some of my view time on my beloved Blakhawks, So be it. going to the tfs/tp today "win or go home" for TFS. All 3 kids are alum, daughter was a 2 time all stater in drama (01-02). Expecting a TFS loss
