to State per Yancy. Says it's 50/50 State/TSUN, with LSU still in the picture. Can someone please explain to me why he would choose TSUN over State? What am I missing here?

besides who has the coolest weight room, the major they want or the close friend that committed to a school.

We all want some logical reason for these things. Sometimes we arent privy to the info.

If I had to venture a guess. Brassell, Singleton, CJ, Whitehead etc all fall into that category.

And yes, I've heard 'things' but they really arent worth mentioning. It's just that they seem to indicate there are other factors in these kids decisions.

I wont be a bit surprised to see them go somewhere else OR msu.

right now, the phrase "Yancy tweeted" sounds the same as, "I just farted and it sounded just like...."

and he said he had a great time this weekend and liked Coach Collins. Mullen told him he needed him to bring this class together. Hes taking his other visits and the only thing really Im worried about is if he somehow gets blown away while on another visit.

a commitment from CJ until close to or on signing day. And you shouldn't take it as a good or bad thing.

MSU is an hour from home; UM is 2 and a half and LSU is 4 hours away; it is always nice to know that home is close whether it be for yourself, your mom, or friends to give support. Once CJ signs the dotted line all the fanfare will be over as to where he will sign. Then he has to work and work hard whether on or off the field. There are going to be bumps in the road. There will be some really down days and support that is close by will be invaluable to him. Being a college athlete is demanding and a huge challenge. I have thought all along he would get caught up in all the hoopla and that he might just commit to the last one who speaks to him. I hope that is not the case. He has a huge decision to make, and I do not blame him for wanting to step back and take another look especially since Manny and Hud left. Hopefully, he will mesh with the new co-D coordinator and Coach Wilson and regain confidence that MSU is the place he wants to be. MSU is a program on the rise and needs linebackers to replace Wright and White. While CJ may also have a good chance to play at UM next season I really do not feel it will be the strong defensive unit that CJ wants to be a part of. I have no clue about LSU and who returns there. I would imagine they have a deep talent pool from which to pull. It just seems to this unobjective writer that CJ has an excellent chance to play at either UM or MSU and that MSU is the better program now with much more potential to do some big things during CJ's college career. It would be great to see CJ and Josh Boyd on that defensive unit knowing both are from Philadelphia High School. Whatever he does I wish CJ nothing but the best.

and telling them to sit down and STFU is a positive... I don't understand why CJ would want to go to Ole Miss considering they have Shackleford and we just lost our MLB... But againa lot of **** doesn't add up during recruiting so who the hell knows...

Can't believe they aren't in contact with each other..... Not saying Manny is trying to steal him, but he thought enough of him to commit in the first place, then de-commits when he leaves......

four 4 stars on defense in this class alone. CJ committed to us and the Diaz change threw a kink but I get the feeling that even if Diaz stayed he would have swayed.
Conspiracy theory alert: Sure seems like a lot of mind changing went on during a quiet period while our staff was at a bowl game. Mix that with a bold faced liar like Yancy and this class has some weird questions going on. Rebel Flags and Dixie, CJ, ask your parents about history

amazing how a rotten corpse by the name of olemiss football became so attractive during a dead period in recruiting while we were away whipping Michigan's *** in a new years day bowl.

He blew up and is getting tons of attention. He's just rolling with it, enjoying the ride. Come signing day he'll be a bulldog. Philadelphia is close to home, he's been a State commit forever he's most comfortable with our staff etc... He is having fun and I don't blame him. Since it's between Ole Miss, LSU, and us I feel fine. Was kind of worried about Bama.

After next weekend comes and goes with no commit to Ole Miss you can come back and tell us how you didn't need him anyway.

Its not hard to figure out.

Floyd Raven decommitted from us because the coach who was recruiting him suddenly was gone.

I believe CJ's lead recruiter was Diaz. Most recruits get to know one coach better than all the others. If that coach leaves that player may look around.

Even Donte Moncrief who has probably been our biggest recruiter out of all our commits was considering looking around when he heard his lead recruiter might not be retained.

If Tyrone Nix were fired tomorrow Marcus Mayers would probably be scheduling a visit to MSU and reopen his recruitment.

Players commit to coaches not schools most times. It really doesn't make much sense because the coach who is your lead recruiter is very likely not to be around for your whole career. Assisstant turnover is very high whether they get fired or hired to a better job elsewhere. But that's what most recruits use as one of their major determining factors.

CJ committed BEFORE Diaz was hired. He can spit that bs excuse all he wants to, but I'm not buying it.

MSU is the better program with a much better chance to do things during CJ's career......based on what? One gator bowl season? TSUN had back to back cotton bowl seasons before this past year. One season does not a "program" make.

He's said that MSU has everything he expects, and he's 100 comfortable there. He likes Coach Wilson, and Mullen. We have immediate playing time available, we have two LB's in the senior bowl, and one rookie LB who started at MLB for the eagles. Plus it's close to home.

Drop back by after Feb 2nd.

Honestly, if he doesn't go to State, I'd expect it to be LSU, just a hunch.

Anyway, that's not the point. My point was that it's not too hard to understand a player decommitting if the coach they are closest to is no longer on the staff, doesn't matter when they chose to commit.

Their mamas want them at state and that's who will have the final say. Right now they are just enjoying the recruiting process and enjoying the attention. Who can blame them? CJ is about to become a 5 star. He'll look around and take his visits and then have a signing day decision and State will get some good PR. Nothing to worry about. People need to quit worrying about what Yancy says because if you look close enough, sometimes some of his posts don't have quotation marks surrounding them. He's just keeping his subscribers hopeful.

If he does, he's bought. Plain and simple.

And about the coaches, I'd say it's probably somewhere in the middle. I'm sure a bunch of recruits (the stupid ones) base their choice strictly on a coach. But the vast majority probably use that as just one criteria.

I'm sure, but it's not uncommon to see a player re-open his recruitment when his lead recruiter leaves the staff. Often there are more reasons than just the recruiter that made them commit to that particular school, and usually those reasons are the reasons they re-commit after building a stronger relationship with one of the other coaches, but I can't say it's unheard of or funny business when a player decides to make sure he's making the right decision when his recruiter leaves the staff.

And if we do for some reason end up buying Johnson, then that falls on your boosters for not stepping up.
