One player comparison I never thought I'd see: Shrader and Michael Crabtree.

I need to see him catch one ball before I can wrap my head around it, but I'll take all the fast, tough to tackle, 6' 5" receivers we can get.

Danny Amendola played WR in high school. That's not to diminish Leach's prowess for developing WRs.

I think he and Welker played wide receiver and Crabtree was a QB in high school. The article did state that all three switched positions under Leach. Not so sure about that but I can't wait to see the Beard run over some guys. I just hope he catches the ball before he starts laying wood

I’m betting we see at least one sick trick play with 2 QBs on the field. Run it against LSU and force other coaches have to devote a little practice time towards it each week.

If you ever get a chance to watch Welker’s story on “A football life” it’s really good. Leach was the only one to recruit him and Welker was the player of the year in Oklahoma. I thought he played RB in HS.

I didn't think this would work out at first, but I trust Leach after reading that article.

Can anyone name a 6'4 slot WR off the top of their head? I'm sure there are some but that's a rare height for that position.

Surprised he made the jump over but maybe he wants to play anywhere necessary. I applaud that. He doesn't appear to be as tied to Joe as people wanted you to believe at the end of last season who said he would leave if Jo was fired. He still might but shows me a lot that he is willing to move. He is super talented athletically so he needs to be on the field somewhere.
