Both coaches are excited about this fall and the future. Neither particularly likes the other that much. Nutt basically blamed the Egg Bowl on him not understanding what a rivalry was about. Nutt guaranteed that he would take the Rebels to Atlanta, but not necessarily this fall.

Even traveled to Southaven and couldn't find one, but that's been over a year.

ETA: I apparently need the reply tutorial

Like Barnes & Noble or Davis-Kidd. Sometimes they'll have the regional papers (especially the Sunday ones) for sale there.

he rode in on. I can't believe he is still trying to sell that excuse. You are going to tell me this guy has been involved in football probably since he was about 12 years old and he doesn't understand a rivalry? His dumbass just took for granted that they had a better team and would walk over us. Whathe should answer to is thedraft analysts discussing the reasons for Snead'sfall from first pick to not being picked at all and one of their reasons was that nutt's offensive scheme is ******. He fits right in up there with all of the excuses.

I know they sell them in Biloxi at the Cedar Lake exit (I-10), but I don't know of any place over here in Jackson County that sells them (not since Katrina). Sad thing is - I was in Vickburg this morningand Ididn't think about grabbing one on the way out of town.

I gather from Nutts remarks that he has never held MSU in the highest regard....he mentioned he beat us 11 out of 12, and then 45-0 his first year at Mississippi....then, his first trip to starkville wearing the confederate colors, he got his *** kicked, and, in so many words, didnt realize there was such a rivalry.....when asked about Mullen specifically, he slipped the question to recruiting and made it a point that this was his best recruiting class ever, and it started here in Mississippi....(throwing a slight jab)......all in all, Nutt basically said Mississippi was tops in this state, and could see no other wise, and didnt have anything to say about Mullen, perhaps bc he's never known him....guaranteed he would have the rebels in atl, but not this year.

On to Mullen...

Mullen first started out saying how much respect he had for Nutt and all his accomplishments......tickles him to death that he pisses off mississippi people.....said they actually refer to them as Ole Miss in team meetings behind closed doors....you can tell he is really, really pumped up about this upcoming season, and said we were oh so close last year......and the momentum of the egg bowl really carried over into the spring... did mention that they really need the fan base to take it up a notch....last year was good ....referring to the crowds, and im sure the financial support, but need even more to be successful..the rest, is nothing you havent ever heard before....

oh, and by the way, since i know you are reading veazy, you are a total **** head for not putting that online.....you have more readers out of state than in state....your journalism is average at best, and your 'national enquirer' tactics are gonna take you there one day.....congrats.....

Nonetheless my wool is still growing thanks to Mullen. I'm getting a little too sheepish for football season but who could blame me? None of our sports have been rewarding to watch as of late.. it is definitely time for some football season again.

With newspapers everywhere facing revenue declines, the C-L has decided to haveseveral print-only articles every Sunday. This was a front-office decision, not a beat writer's decision.

And yeah, you're right that Nutthasgot a huge chip on his shoulder towards MSU and Mullen. The last coach we hired that had this big an effect on the UM coach was when Billy Brewer got all bent out of shape about Jackie Sherrill. I think Nutt's more than a little concerned about having some real competition from the school down south. One thing's for sure, he'll never get to play us sandwiched between our two biggest rivals again.

I bet the content of the article was driven by the front office as well. The CL wants Mullen-Nut to be another Sherrill-Brewer rivalry. They are spinning it as that and tried to come up with a must-read article that had to be paid for in a print edition.

Now if the CL really knew what it was doing it would put an online micro-payment/DRM (digital rights management) system out there and charge money for the article, still having it available online.

Many of the larger papers (WSJ, Washington Post, etc.) have iPhone/Blackberry apps, and the iPhone OS now supports monthly fees with app purchases. Personally I only fork out money for things like the MLB AtBat app, but if I had an a la carte option for things like this I'd probably exercise it every once and a while.
