win. Saying it on ESPN for the whole the nation to see is different. If (big if)Meyer even sees it, he'll just shrug it off.

whether we win or not, I at least expect the players to believe that they can win.

But on the other end of the spectrum, I feel like "poor mouthing" our team can come across as being just as disresepectful as saying we're going to kick someone's *** because they suck and can't hang with us. That's one reason why I really dislike Lou Holtz. I always felt like his poor mouthing of his team was condescending to the other team. You could tell that he didn't really believe what he was saying. Stuff like "Oh Mississippi State is so big, and so fast, and so physical, I don't know how we're going to hang with them".

I don't know-I just really dislike Lou Holtz in general. If there is one coach that I would never play for, it would be him. He obviously had really good coordinators and recruiters because it probably got pretty old pretty quick hearing about how "Games like Navy are what you came to Notre Dame for". Of course by that point I probably would have been wondering what the hell "you can't make orange juice from lemons, but you can make lemonade" and being a good father had to do with playing football anyway.

I really wish we had someone like Dan back when Lou was at South Carolina so that we could run it up on his *** and then go to midfield after the game and say- "Yep, your team couldn't hang with us."

KNOWING you're going to win.

You have to be absolutely confident that you have what it takes to beat anybody.

Going in with the attitude of "I'll play my best and see what happens" is how you get your *** kicked.

this guy making the comment probably never played a sport in his life. When I played football, we always thought we were going to beat the big guys...whether we did or not is a different story. At least he has CONFIDENCE...I cant stand these kinds of fans and I wish they would disappear...

on the premise that fans AT A GAME can affect an outcome. But not on a message board or your general feeling during the week. That don't mean ****.

Even if I thought we couldn't beat Florida, if I was at the game, it would not change how I root State on.
