I have heard the rumors prior to this but, really didn't put much stock in them.

Can't say I put much more stock in it now, just because the CL is reporting it.

This has to be a ploy by the Tech administration to get his "big time" name into the hat as a potential candidate.

Not, that I think he is a terrible coach but, TT and the spread offense?? If you want to blow up everything that reminds you Mike Leech, includeing his offense....why don't you just hire Crooms???

TT is looking to make a big splash and wants everyone to notice it, kinda like tennessee did with Kiffin.....I think they will make a big splash, but you see how well that worked out for UT....of course it is only year one...

a failed experimental change to the spread? Sounds like a perfect fit to me. Maybe he can bring back Tony Franklin.

Kinda like Mullen did with our offense? Got rid of the Croomz Coast Offense and implemented the spread. Just because they're Texas Tech, doesn't mean they HAVE to run the spread offense. Just saying.

five years for athletes to run the spread and that changing over to a pro-set will take about three years (see Ark and Michigan) to really get going. Mack Brown and Bob Stoops are not impressed.

The problem with Tubbs is he is a defensive minded coach and prefers to control the clock on offense. He will not be able to get the talent on defense and offense to fit his style at Tech.

The announcers in their bowl game said they don't even have a tight end on their roster, and I doubt if they have a fullback either. Of course you could change their offense, but you'd be setting yourself up for a tough couple of years getting it started, and in this day and age you really don't have that kind of time to work with (well, unless your Crxxm working for Larry Simpleton).

Well, you got that right. Why would anyone want to step into the Tech job and continue running that gimmicky offense of Mike Leech's.

Who cares if he has three years worth of recruits sitting there waiting to continue putting up hellacious offensive numbers.....Blow the damn thing up and play defense......

Thats what I'm talkin about.

TT wants Art Briles. He has a $4million buyout at Baylor and the only school he can go to is TT. Briles is allegedly asking Baylor for permission to talk with TT.

I don't think that Tuberville would be a good fit at Texas Tech for the same reasons. And not just for the first few years while they slowly get rid of Leach's players. I don't think he would ever be very competitive at TT, or at least as competitive as Leach was. Heck, Tuberville wasn't really any more competitive at AUBURN than Leach was at Texas Tech.

never had that luxury. That would have been like UT going on serious probation rather than winning a national title.

Look at what Pelini is building on the D side at Nebraska. He's building an SEC defense. He's putting his best athletes on defense. Those MFers had the tea sippers *** whipped and they let them off the hook. I firmly believe the ***** 12 will slowly move to the SEC model. Say what you want to about earz, but that MFer can coach some D.

think the paper really lies. They say TT is interviewing and this guy apparently doesn't believe it b/c it was the C-L.

Seriously, how many times do they publish something that is false? Usually, they don't print anything until its been on every media outlet in America.

Consider me "attacked". On 2nd thought it probably was a bit lame.

But, would it be any less lame if say, I had 747 post.....like you?

Is that your most noteworthy accomplishment in your life? .....747 post on SPS??

Way to go "Oxford"....you are the 17ing man.

I think an IP ban could wrap this up.
