Clarion Ledger Subscription Increase

I got a letter today from the Clarion Ledger telling me that starting August 1, my rate will go from $34 every 3 months, to $24 per month.

No thanks, you can have your **** rag for a paper!!

Look no further than the NO Times Picayune....They were making money off a 7 day a week printed paper, but not enough, so they went ahead and moved to 3 day printed and more online. Just a matter of time before the CL and rest of industry follows suit.

The end is near! I have been a subscriber for
the last 20 years until now out of habit.

I will still walk to the end of our drive every
morning ....looking and will be better off when
nothing is there.

I just got my mail and have the same +##@%%* letter. It will be $22 for Easy Pay option.
I wonder if they will have a weekend rate

but my guess is Extreme has the weekend delivery plan. I have that and that's about what I'm paying. I'm guessing starting Aug. 1, there won't be a weekend-only option, you'll either be a subscriber or not. Not sure which way I'll go but I'm leaning toward dropping them.

As someone that lives about 1000 miles away and only reads sports related content on the Clarion Ledger website,the day they begin chargingwill be the last time I click on theirweb page unless they offer a deeply discounted online subscription to out of state folks.
