Yes. Central has outplayed and outcoached Clarke. Clarke QB had 2 interceptions and a fumble in first half.

It was a terribly played game on Clarke's part. They couldn't block for our runners, they couldn't pass worth a durn, and the defense had more holes than swiss cheese. I was worried after the way they played Warren County. I don't recognize this team at all, they are not playing with any sense of urgency or enthusiasm.

Clarke played a team that was both faster and more physical, and the final score reflected that.

Central not only has the horses but they are extremely well coached. Their defense strung out the Eagles and shot the interior gaps. They refused to give up the edges. Discipline is the name of the game versus the Single Wing. The Riverheads game will be interesting.

Clarke is not what I was thinking they were according to what has been said on here , don't see them making it very far in the playoffs again !!

4A schools should be licking their chops for the northern va schools after what Clarke County did to Dominion.

I don't know what's happened to them lately. They kicked around the 3 and 4a teams early in the season, then lost focus at Warren County, and completely didn't show up for Central. No fire in their eyes or bellies at all.

Even the coaches at Alabama get outcoached every once in a blue moon , so pretty sure even the best high school coaches can have it happen to them.
Had nothing to do with coaching, Central was the better team last night. If you had a better game plan, please share that.

Central was indeed the much better team last night, and in my opinion that includes the coaching as well. I'm a Clarke fan and hope they go far in the playoffs, but sometimes things just don't go your way in games and the other team beats you in all aspects of the game.

True Clarke fans don't come on social media and blast the coaching staff. Credit Central and move on. I'll wait for your praise of the coaching staff on their next win.

I think Clarke has a great coaching staff, one of the best, but saying the other team outcoached them in a game isn't blasting anyone, it happens. Doesn't bother me that our opinions differ. Let's hope they win big next week!!

I would argue that periodically yelling for Brian Wallace to switch sides of the field wasn't quite the needed adjustment. Now if Wallace would have been moved to MLB then you would have had my attention as exhausting all options as a staff.

While we're at it the staff also made a decision in the 2nd half to get the game over with by calling run plays, huddling up, and burning clock instead of exhausting all options offensively. Panic set in in the 2nd quarter and the staff made a decision to stop throwing the ball because of a couple of interceptions. It looked like the white flag was waved.

There is such a thing as short side of the field....nothing wrong with making adjustments as needed. Yes or no question...have you ever coached high school football?

Yes and that was the only adjustment made. It was made by yelling. If this was a normal adjustment then he would know wouldn't he? Yes or no question?

All's good, this is a blog for discussing opinions and observations pregame, during games and post game. No two will ever have the same opinion or observation of what they saw.

Simply amazing.......First-Central is very very good. Great combo of speed and crazy size. They have depth everywhere. Anyone who knows the BRD has known since this group of kids (at Central) 9th graders they were going to very good. They will be even better next year and then will come back to the pack. It's the "wave" of talent schools go through.
As for Clarke-
People getting on here just bashing away but here is the reality.
1--Clarke has lost about 5 starters in the past 2 weeks and I'm not talking minor injuries. Their amazing kicker/punter was even seriously injured.
2-Friday night they lost 3 starters on defense (who also play offense) very very early and another lineman is playing on 1 leg as has been for weeks. They had to move a running back to TE and their wing was cramping the whole game. They had multiple linebackers miss the majority of the game along with their other bookend away from Wallace.
3- As for adjustments--Clarke tried a 4 man/5 man line on defense--stunted etc to no avail. Oh and let's face it-People don't run a lot at Wallace so maybe moving him to the other side once the formation broke out was part of an adjustment as well?
4--Clarke has very little depth to say the least this year
5--For the person who says "Clarke won't be deep in playoffs again" Hmmmm....They have played into Thanksgiving 3 out of the 4 past seasons and went to the state title once. Not sure what definition of deep is but????

Add that up and you get the following:
A wounded team in regards to injuries who couldn't block or stop a very good team in Central. Clarke was/is a very good team early in the year when they didn't have the injuries when they were rolling through the 3/4A schools.
No one feels sorry for Clarke due to the success and no once at Clarke is feeling sorry for themselves. The coaches will move the puzzle pieces around this week and piece them together to play Strasburg as it will be a lot of moving parts based on the amount of injuries.

Happy Sunday.

This thread seems to be all about Clarke. It should be about Central. They are a very talented team much like Stuarts Draft from last year. They should go far in the playoffs. The game with Riverheads will be exciting.

You beat me too it...what info does anyone have about Central? I know they have athletes and size but what did they do that stopped a really good CC team? Are they a contender this year? I was going to go to EV's game Friday but am now going to watch Central at Madison Co. Who are the players to watch?

Kyle Clanton and Varsey Bright played real well in the game against Skyline. Shane Watson had almost 100 yards rushing against Clarke County. They have a lot of size on the line, and speed. They are really good running and defending the run. Not that they are bad at passing and defending the pass, but just by comparison not as good.
