Beachy, in his first ever MLB appearance/start, was getting outs but was lucky as hell. The Phillies were hitting ropes off him, but he got thru the first 4 innings giving up only 1 run. Top of the 5th, his spot in the lineup comes up with 2 outs and a runner on 2nd in a tie game. It's September, so the bench and bullpen are as deep as could ever be needed. Bobby sends him up to bat. Bad enough, but then he yanks him 3 batters later (for his treasured lefty/lefty matchup) when he's only given up a bloop and an error. Completely non-sensical. Final result, Braves don't score in the 5th, Phillies score two, Braves lose 3-1.

I am so ready for that has been to retire.

He either leaves a pitcher in too long, or takes him out too early,And almost every single time the outcome ends up going against the Braves. Did it with Medlen earlier this year letting him go into the 8th inning and he imploded and gave up like 3 runs and didn't record an out. Did it with Minor in his 1st MLB start. I don't know who we are gonna hire. I would really like us to go after Freddy Gonzalez and get him back in the organization, or let Eddie Perez go from bullpen coach to head coach, but I have an awful feeling that Pendleton has been promised the spot. Bad things in Atlanta if Pendleton is the head coach.

...turned down flat an interview offer from the Cubs a few weeks ago. Most took that as a sign the Braves job has already been promised to him.

He has a great relationship with his players, and with him only being 2 years removed from being in the Braves clubhouse, it would seem likean easy transition between Bobby and Gonzalez. And I'm sure being under Bobby, he has very similar expectations and demands from the players he coaches that Bobby has.

I kept expecting the Phillies to have a big inning but it never happened. Two of the runs he gave up were unearned because they charged Heyward with a 3 base error on that fly ball that Victorino hit. He left some fastballs up but his breaking stuff looked good.

Oh well. Chance of making playoffs down to 85.7% today.
