they are supposed to have different enough trim levels to be considered different cars. the execution just isn't there. and it just doesn't work today anyway.

Honda/Acura, Toyota/Lexus, Chevrolet/Cadillac. I can see Pontiac as RWD sports cars and Saturn as cheap, small cars. I know the justification but no reason to keep Buick or have GMC making anything smaller than a dump truck.

Nissan has the Armada and the Infiniti QX56, They are the same exact SUV except for the hood(56 also has 2 layers of clear coat, some of them).

Im not sure about the price difference, but I think its probably around 15-20 thousand dollars. Oh yeah and the emblem. Makes no sense
but people pay the differnce.

Same frame, engine, same everything except interior features and like you said, the emblem. Price difference is probably around $10k for the loaded out Armada and loaded out QX56.

So Pontiac completely overlapped Chevy there with the Camaro, Impala SS, etc. GM has been an (internal) empire-building blob for decades. I think they should drop everything except Chevy, Caddy, and Saturn.
