Happy for the Burns and Shelby guys. Must have been rough trying to sit through those Friday nights.
It's been a nightmare. Attendance has been down because everyone knew it was a running clock most of the games. I'd rather take a couple close L's just to see entertaining games.
Them deeper issues you talkin' 'bout might come from the whole vibe in the program, ya feel me?Surely there is embarrassment. To be so bamboozled and sold as a college recruiting coordinator and the goal being to get kid’s seen and into college, the guy didn’t know how to load the roster properly or include any player’s statistics in maxpreps.
It hasn’t been talked about much but I have to give credit to Corvian Community. When Salisbury bailed on us for the Jamboree, Corvian came knocking and nobody knew who they were but I was impressed with them. Tomorrow they play for the 1A Title. Much respect to them.
They got some dudes. I watched EG play them last year and you could tell then they were talented but was super young. The school is separated by a fence and a 100 yard stretch of woods from Mallard Creek. I'm sure some talent may have leaked over.
Burns got out, but that platnum 1A division Shelby is in is almost as bad as their conference. They
ll be able to start the JV's most of the season.
Waiting on the Shelby folks to claim another title to their count since they did “beat” West Charlotte in A SCRIMMAGE!
Yep technically we are 3a champs , and since yall beat us yall are too..... and Monroe is 2a and 3a champs
Technically Shelby beat a 8a team in a scrimmage that went on to win the State..very very impressive Lions

It looks like Santa may have dropped a Christmas package off under the KM football tree. It seems that a talented returning Golden Lion player’s family moved into the KM district back in November. It will be interesting to see if he enrolls in KM after the break, finishes the year at Shelby, or his family opts to keep him at Shelby next year. Some of the kids seem to think he is coming to KM so we will see.
Heard 1 of those Wr coming to KM but I’ll let the Shelby folks tell which 1

I haven’t heard about a Shelby WR coming to KM but I did hear that one of them and his family were very disgruntled. Ive heard some chatter supposedly from the Shelby side about parents/players being unhappy with lack of offers coming in. The story goes that parents are asking how are Crest and KM kids getting offered or signing while Shelby kids aren’t receiving much at this time. It seems that Coach Wilbon has his hands full. Today’s parents are a handful to deal with. I don’t think he last much longer at Shelby. I give him another year at the most. Waiting to see how all that shakes out.

Marketing. Crest does a good job of marketing their kids, and the Kings Mountain players do a good job of publicizing themselves. Going to camps and showcases and having people validate what you promote is a major deal now. From what I have heard and seen, Shelby needs to do a better job in that area. Saw a Shelby WR come to a showcase, got recognized , a couple days later he suddenly gets his first offer. It's not hard, it just takes a little more effort.
I agree that Crest does a great job of marketing their kids. KM kids get a list of college camps/dates in their band app. Coach Herron does a good job during the season of coordinating college game day unofficial visits. Kids just have to get themselves there. I know a few schools in Charlotte and other schools in the state have them but I am surprised more NC high schools aren’t hiring or have a coach as a dedicated recruiting coordinator on staff assisting the recruitment process.

At some point the lack of nuts over there had to catch up with them. I mean if they do not ask to play up (they won't) then those kids are stuck in boringville. They build nice buildings and they play the part but kids need to know they're whet's important.
If it is this particular wide receiver then those surrounding him let him down to begin with. He was playing the likes of Gaffney and left to go play Thomas Jefferson and Bessemer City and the Ray Charles Institute and can't figure out why no one has paid them any attention.
Heard the county was cracking down on transfers when a basketball player tried to go to Crest.
That means Shelby has unleashed the hounds on the rest of us.
If it who I think, he had one transfer under his belt already and tried to transfer again to Crest without actually moving. County said no.

And if they do try KM and it doesn't suit them there is always Burns.

County can show some backbone when a kid wants to go to Crest.
Bro we are loaded at WR so I am afraid we do not have any room. We just got 12 transfers from Gaffney and go figure they ALL play WR. What I am basically saying is he is more than welcomed to come on over if it's legal. By legal I mean, please don't let Shelby know it isn't if it isn't.
Only school that gets cracked down on transferring to is Crest
Always has been and always will be
Remember the sit out a year if you transfer rule
Name 1 kid that had to sit, kid had to sit coming to Crest years ago , now you can play half a season at one school and suit up for another the next week
Enforce the rules for all period
if it’s the WR that was at Crest , there was no way he was starting and playing more than the 3 Senior wrs Crest had that year.

Honestly that kid went back to Shelby and he’s probably gonna finish there..The WR that moved to KM had a big game against KM and has a ton of upside
Not aware of that move either but the player that I originally referenced is not a receiver. I am hearing this other kid and family moved in November but he was still at Shelby at least as far as Christmas break. I heard from a couple of sources about the move into the KM district but I am taking a wait and see because of some of the family ties to Shelby football. I can see this kid possibly finishing the school year at Shelby and then enrolling at KM if his family chooses.
