Is beating up on team that much worse than you fun? geez. I’m embarrassed enough for us all.
I’m not even a Shelby fan but when you take out your first string in the 1st quarter what do you do? Do you tell 2nd and 3rd string seniors that never get to play that they should just fall down? This is t on Shelby, this is on NCHSAA idiots who kept this team in our conference. Shelby could have put up triple digits with no problem.
Yea I agree, there has to be some nuance to these conferences. I know how many ppl go to Shelby, but come on. This is bad conference creating.
Agreed. I honestly thought once they did the re-alignment we would get these teams out and they didn’t do anything but add more teams. Highland, Cherryville and BC didn’t deserve this but I will not blame any team for what the scores are. Shelby did everything they could to not score it seemed.
sure, the Shelby players did nothing wrong, they have to play who lines up in front of them. It’s just not fun for anyone with these two outcomes.
So our qb I think was 13-15 for 233 yards.... he threw once down field the rest were jet sweep pitches forward which is a pass....
Thet turned the ball over 3 of their first four plays that led to one touchdown on a recovery of a fumble of very short distance,., by the end of the first quarter there were kids getting in and scoring I had never even heard of.. we took knees the last five minutes of the game... Not sure what else we could have done.to keep the score down... its just pitiful we have to play them in football
wanna hear the weird thing, they won the wells fargo cup for the conference last year competitive in most sports but definitely not in football .. it doesnt help anyone for them to field a football team...its just sad....
we have played them 5 times and I we have scored in the 70;s the first four games and then this tonight.... They have never scored on us,,,, its just a sad state.... that firs draft by t he NCHSAA had them out but some genius added them back..... to their credit they played to the very end but my god whagt a waste of the game... You cant even kick extra points on their field for fear of losing balls in the woods on one side and the roof of the school on the other... the announcers were placed in a spot that they couldnt even see the scoreboard,.,,,

Games like this should shame NCHSAA to action. Do something after next season and move Cleveland County schools out of this conference. Put them in Big South and live with it for two years.
They should be in conference with Rutherford County teams but for whatever reason it doesn’t happen
RC did complain a few years back and say they couldn’t win with CC teams in the same conference

This is true.... both boys and girls soccer at HT are very competitive.
