True. We said we’d kill them. We’d have destroyed Eastern Randolph too.But look at the last 3 teams we played. Shelby couldn’t beat any of them. And you could not beat us.

We’re playing 5A football. Stay down there where you belong.

Face it. Crest for now is the PREMIER football team Cleveland County. We run this County. There is nothing you can say to make it otherwise.

Wait until you see what’s next. You have no IDEA.

Bow down to YOUR County champions. Give us what you owe us.
I have to say .... and I don't want to say it, but I have seen Shelby and Burns play a few times this year. I've seen Crest play. Saw the Crest-Shelby game. Obviously saw some of KMs games. This is Crest's biggest gap/margin of being better than everyone else in the county that I've ever seen. Those other 3 teams aren't even close. I don't think NFHS is cutting out any parts that made these games look any different.
Correct - Not only could Shelby or Burns not beat SP, SP would blow both of them out ...as easily as KM was blown out....unless of course Shelby brought that same ref crew from the Shelby-Crest game. Crest is on a way different level than the rest of CC and the state this year.

I can’t help to think about how this upcoming weekend could have turned out for CC overall. Cleveland County has four teams in four different divisions currently. Two are in their respective state championship games and both will be favored to win. Two went out in the 3rd round. Burns could have easily been in a state championship game this year if they had received one break. Kings Mtn lost FIVE returning starters to transfer and their OC late that drastically impacted their season. Five key starters at that. This made KM have to go extremely young in key positions which hurt depth, strength, and handling adversity for KM. I thought this season once the realignment was settled that CC had a chance to do something historic with placing every team in a western final with the possibility of placing all four county teams in state title games. It would have been glorious and a culmination of what CC football is in this state. Good luck Shelby and Crest next week as you represent the county on the biggest stage in the state.
Excuses and parables. What was their best game this year... Shelby game right? Second best game....Burns? They won both and fourth game stayed within a TD of CC. They were youngest AT THIS point in the year!!!! They weren't a bad football team.... they just played in the league with Crest, Ashbrook and South Point ... and non conf'd Shelby, Burns (granted... two inter-county rivals even though they're an obvious couple levels down) and Charlotte Catholic (definitely a level up..7A).
Ya'll just played a tough schedule. You weren't as good as some of the top teams in the state at your level or just below it (Crest, Ashbrook, SP). Everybody lost starters/had injuries that affected the balance of their as they do in most years. Moreover....you had the easier part of the schedule early on....and tougher part later in the year.

It's not. I saw the Crest-Shelby game. Ya'll got a lot of help. Shelby is the more dominant program over history - obviously. But, there has been a big swing the last couple years in the divide between the two programs. Ya'll have been left where you want to be....playing little pond ball as the big fish and Crest is playing in the big pond as a big fish.

No excuses. When you play so many young guys you lose physicality for the SP, Brook, and Crest games. You also lose mental aspects of playing which lead to busted plays especially defensively. Kings Mtn was down seven starters when we got to SP. Those are facts. Big Tex didn’t even dress for the SP game. We were on our 3rd and 4th string running backs for SP. We were down two receivers for the SP game. We were already down one lineman going into the SP game. You think that didn’t have an impact? SP did not see the same team that Shelby played personnel wise. Tex and the RB we had at the beginning of the season had to be accounted for every play. SP didn’t see either. KM was youngest at the end of the season not the beginning of the season. We got one kid back for Crest and most of the rest who were able to return came back the first week of the playoffs. We couldn’t run our offensive scheme going into Ashbrook game because the young kids didn’t know the hand signals so we started huddling up. We moved to eight starters down when SP illegally chopped blocked one of our best linemen and put him out with a knee injury until playoffs. Our defense was three seniors, a junior, and the rest freshmen/sophomores. Even with all of that the halftime score was 8-0. KM also had a called “fumble” on a qb sneak into the end zone and a wide open dropped pass that would have been a TD. KM could have easily been up 14-0. I will say that the young kids we played late and the jv players at the end of the season we brought up really helped us in the playoffs. Those young kids played NG much tougher than Ashbrook did. Kudos to the other Big South teams but like I said we had a lot going on internally. Yes all three teams mentioned were really good teams. I will say that if we keep this nucleus together at KM and make some tweaks in coaching we definitely going to get our licks back.

Shelby has won more state titles in the last 10 years than Crest has won playoff games, As for SP laughing my *** off.
We have told you about those rinky dinks. No one cares. You are the 3rd best team in the County playing a bunch of special needs teams for rings.

Stick around and watch the best team in Cleveland County play at 8pm.. Our QB could have all those passing yard records if we played in YOUR conference. It's all JOKE. You act like we forget who you all play... No team that we've beaten FOUR years in a row should say anything to us. We look down our noses at Shelby..

******Let's GO KINSTON!!!!!!!!******

rulz…you disappoint us.

Here’s a question for you.
Kinda like overtime, and would you rather take the ball first.

If Shelby wins on Saturday afternoon, just how IMMENSE will the pressure be then on you and the chargers?!

You might want to prepare for that.
Karma is waiting for you.

Maybe that would be your reason to pull for Kinston.

We're going to win Sir. You know it and I know it. The only way we don't is if God intervenes for Hunt. Go watch the tape on them... They'd finish 6th or 7th in our conference. We're who we are., we believe. No dodging no excuses..

I'm sort of sorry I disappointed all of you. I really like the TRUE Dynasty part of you all. He's a good dude and he lives amongst us and his kids are US.

Go Chargers!!!

Injuries absolutely have an impact. I agree. SP had lots of injuries too - they just didn't advertise and rely on them to explain losses. I wish SP was fully loaded throughout the year.
The one WR didn't dress for the SP game....but what did he do the year before?
Illegal chop blocks? SMH. Good lord.
You are describing the KM-SP here? The totally controlled/dominated game where KM couldn't do much at all at any point? The same game that was a shutout? 5 TDs for one side, and zero TDs for the other side? After reading your description of it, if I hadn't seen the game, I would think KM inexplicably lost the game.

As I stated earlier our kids didn’t handle adversity well. Go back and watch the tape. Also we didn’t mention the injuries until I gave a review on our season. Injuries matter when you have to move people to positions they never played before. I am looking forward to the future. At this time we currently return almost 90% of our whole team for next season.
Also even the SP coaches realized that block wasn’t a regular play. SP coaches to their credit coached their kids up on the spot after that play. That kid was by far our best overall lineman and that block to his lower leg/knee put him out for five weeks and in the hospital for a night. It was the reason that the officials begin calling chop blocks more on SP after that play during the season. The other Big South coaches made sure that the officials looked for that including the Crest coaches prior to the playoff game. SP should be pretty good next season but after next season it’s going to be painful for the Raider faithful in Belmont.

It certainly sounds like league coaches and officials were conspiring to make these calls of recent. Interesting....SP got the flags in those Crest games. Things like holding and chop blocks. Could a chop block happen if one guy wasn't low enough in a double team? Sure. You mention it like it's every SP play... and if that's your stance, you know little about blocking in the sport of football.

Curious as to why you think SP won’t continue to be good after next season….

They played several sophomores on the varsity this year. Yes, the QB will be a senior.

Middle School just went undefeated and won the County Championship.

Coaching is always excellent.

SP will continue to be strong.
