A tough week 1 matchup for both teams. Great matchups all over the field. Shelby has a good defensive line but KM counters with a good o-line. Strength on strength. A lot of talent all over the field for both teams. Shelby had the extra scrimmage so once we get through the first qtr that will balance out. I have Kings Mountain pulling it out on the road.

Makes absolutely no senseGaston County logic: Cancel a 6pm high school jamboree at 4p (92 degrees) with 15y-18y olds because temps are above 88 degrees. Gaston County middle school football teams (11y-13y) played today at 4pm when temperatures are 98 degrees. I guess it makes perfect sense to someone on that side
Heat index was 14 degrees higher verses today. Big difference when looking at 108 and 94 degree feel like temps, not including the radiant heat from the turf.
The reason scrimmage was called off in Gaston last Fri. Is what's called wet bulb humidity.
The norm is 88 and below and it was 94 at SC fri...

In your effort to highlight the Crest win later in that day, you give the most ridiculous reasons for the Shelby victory.
Any fair minded football fan could only marvel at the precision offensive display by our QB and his receivers, coupled with a stubborn offensive line and a remarkable freshman running back.
Equally precise was the Kinston offense, focusing on the NC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR Copper, with an outstanding QB themselves and other multi talented skill players.
Both offenses were unstoppable in the first half, and many feel the massive DE hit on the Kinston QB just before the half was the main reason their offense slowed in the second half.
Kinston had State commit Copper and a D1 Marshall commit IN THEIR DEFENSIVE BACKFIELD.
Ghost defense? Far from it.

Everyone is getting wet bulb education. My point is that is was called way too early. The scrimmage times could have been pushed back an hour to begin at 7pm. Also EVERYONE else in the Charlotte metro area played their scheduled scrimmages so you telling me that everyone else ignored state rules? Also state rules say push it back 45min before calling off events for weather related delays.
Honestly, they probably saved almost everyone a trip, if they were following state rules and not bringing in misting fans or setting up under a tent(cheat codes), because the heat index was still over 105 at 7pm.
I've seen high school games not start till 8 due to wet bulb. Once the sun goes down you're usually good to go.

12 kids with D1 offers between these two teams is impressive. This is not counting multiple other kids with D2 and below offers. Even more impressive is there are a couple of other kids who will join that list later. Again a lot of talent in this one.

For the Crest game I am told it is Audio only. I don't think Crest allows video or has not allowed it in the past.
This. Crest/Burns will be online, audio only. Shelby/KM on WOHS. It looks like the County is making it harder for media coverage with the new media guidelines. That's a shame.
I don't remember Crest ever allowing KTC to stream live video. Burns always has at Home. I was told Crest never allowed it. KM still has their own network so what did the county do to change it.
Ill tell you what a joke is. $12 for a ticket. That is insane compared to what it used to be.
I paid 100 bucks for my seat at Crest for five games. 20 bucks a game but not having to worry about it makes it worth it.
Plus my seat is up top in front of the bathroom wall and for whatever reason you can feel heat coming off of it.

Don’t both schools split gate in County games..heard that a while back don’t know if it’s true
I think it is just the Crest/Shelby game that splits the gate.
$4 million and no one thought to move the scoreboard where the visiting team can see it without having to stand up and look way back over your shoulder
