Congratulations to both Crest and KM Middle they put on a great show for us today..The game was closer than the score indicated and the County has a wave of athletes coming thru once again
Had someone say the same thing earlier today. The top 4 middle school teams are the future for 3A-6A.Congratulations to both Crest and KM Middle they put on a great show for us today..The game was closer than the score indicated and the County has a wave of athletes coming thru once again
Coach Bowman has those boys believing, and that matters. But talking is one thing and proving it Friday night is another. Let’s see who backs it up when the lights come on!I looked at a few post last night and Cherryville is flexing about this Friday. lol They are coming in prepared to whip Burns. That is what a few posters are saying. I think we simmer that down by half but I will give credit to Bowman. When you have parents and the community hyped up about playing a CC team you are doing it right considering the history Cherryville has. They did not even want in this conference and now they are all about shocking the world. I like it.
I can guarantee you that Coach Devine has treated this week like Cherryville is 7-0. He has done this long enough to know that you never overlook anyone. Cherryville needs this kind of hype because it is not something they have had in a long time. I think they will be a threat in their playoff bracket. This isn't East Gaston or WL coming to town though.Coach Bowman has those boys believing, and that matters. But talking is one thing and proving it Friday night is another. Crest Middle have four kids who absolutely are going to be pieces to build around in the future for Crest High. I can see 2-3 of those kids contributing to varsity as freshmen as some point next year.Congratulations to both Crest and KM Middle they put on a great show for us today..The game was closer than the score indicated and the County has a wave of athletes coming thru once again
He attended MIDDLE school at AC.I am not suggesting he is leaving now or anything.. .. and don't know about any facebrook posts, but ya'll do know he has already gone and come back from Ambassador Christian I'm sure, right?
I agree with you that Coach Devine isn’t going to overlook anybody. That experience matters, especially heading into a conference game. And Coach Bowman deserves credit because Cherryville has won back to back games, scoring 101 points combined against West Lincoln and East Gaston. Both teams are 5-2, so this should be a good test. The difference is Burns has gone 5-0 in conference play, while Cherryville is 3-2. That’s why Friday matters. I respect the momentum Cherryville has built, and I agree they could be a threat in their playoff bracket. But playing well against one team and competing against a team with Burns’ conference results are two different challenges. I’m looking forward to seeing how both programs respond on the field. Nothing but respect for both programs!I can guarantee you that Coach Devine has treated this week like Cherryville is 7-0. He has done this long enough to know that you never overlook anyone. At some point you just have to let people type and overlook what they dont know.He attended MIDDLE school at AC.
It's not just the conference records. You gotta take into account both teams non-conference opponents also. If Burns had played Cherryville's non-conference games (Owen & North Stokes) they'd be 7-0. And had Cherryville played Burns' non-conference games (Crest & Kings Mountain) they'd be 3-4. This game may be close for a bit but it shouldn't be at the end. If Burns is what we all think, they should win by 24+.I agree with you that Coach Devine isn’t going to overlook anybody. That experience matters, especially heading into a conference game.
