Just checked out the first couple rounds of the first 3 weight classes...SDSU ranked guys all went down early to unranked opponents. Definitely not peaking too soon. Always like to see them do well!

Only 3 top 10 teams and over 120 ranked wrestlers, but probably not quite the Soldier Solute.
Based on past reputation and competition, are you going to try and convince me that this year's CK is a top notch tournament?

No one has ever claimed the SS is a top competition.
And WTF does the SS have to do with my opinion of the Cliff Keen?

Not as strong as past years, yes. Weak, no.

it is still the toughest regular season tournament of the season. Seems weird to call it “weak” when it’s the best tournament there is.

Let’s see weak ISU beat Iowa so Iowa weak? You really need to relive you past somewhere else.

Joy is a problem at 149. Dominated Larkin 15-0
Then Larkin beat Valencia 9-6, Valencia got first takedown, got to Larkins legs a bunch but had a hard time finishing. Larkin had two third period takedowns to win it. Joy is definitely going to be in the thick of things come March.

So weak, the team that beat us by 6 is in it.
Does that mean it's still not weak? Hey, we're a top 4 team but the SS is weak AF.

There are a few decent teams there, and about 3 top 12 guys per weight. It's a good tournament, not great. It was much better in year's past but like other in-season tournaments, it's not as strong as it has been.

Nice. Didn’t catch the Valencia/Larkin match. Both of them are really good. My top 3 for 149 right now are SVN, Joy and Larkin.

Side note, Evans from UTV is tough and will be another good match for Block next week. He lost 8-2 to Joy yesterday.

I agree with the top 3. Hope block can keep building on what he has done so far this year, definitely like how he has looked. He gets after it, some people on here will complain because he hasn’t scored a bunch of points but I think his offense will continue to trend upward. Things he has going for him though is he holds really good position on his feet, has been good on the mat, and has what seems to be an endless gas tank. His length will also give a lot of guys problems. Look forward to seeing how the rest of his season goes.
