Good for Philly ponying up the cash. Two products that came through Mississippi in that rotation too. (Lee & Oswalt)

they could have had him for 1/2 the price they got him for now.

How does Lee have MS ties?

if this is for real, holy ****. this has got to be the best rotation ever

and some of the Yankees rotations in the late 90's, early 2000's could certainly give them a run. The Orioles had a great rotation in the 60's with Jim Palmer, Mike Cuellar, Pat Dobson, and Dave McNally.

Also, the Dodgers had three HOF's at one time- with Koufax, Drysdale, and Don Sutton.

The Phillies are up there, though.

What with Steve Trachsel, Jon Leiber, Kevin Tapani, Kyle Farnsworth, and Terry Mulholland - there's a Big League pitching staff.

Kind of makes me wonder if the Phillies aren't shopping Oswalt or Hamels on the back side of this deal the same way they did Lee when they acquired Doc...

..Lee is actually overrated. Oswalt actually has been the better pitcher, both long-term and recently, but that 6-12 stint with Houston last year (before going 7-1 with Philly)is a big red flag.

But i do have to grudgingly admit that this rotation, on paper, is as good as any the Braves put out there. Hopefully it doesn't translate onto the field.

Their lineup isn't nearly what it used to be, and now they are ill-equipped to cover for any major injuries.
