Just 2 weeks ago they were the best 5-5 team in the state. What happened? I knew when I seen how close 2-8 Ledford was to beating you guys, no way you beat Andrews.

This team should have been 9-1 or 8-2 but when you rarely get in the weightroom and dont tackle in practice the whole year and have coach calling you by your number because he dont know your name and ......... I could go on for days. The students deserve better. This team was way better than 5-5.Get all in or get out.

Idk any of the details around this situation but I agree, you gotta be a in or all out, no middle ground

From the videos and pictures of summer workouts, looks like they were in the weight room working hard.

This post peaked my interest so I investigated solely based on Maxpreps and I am curious why this time period for Clinton football is perceived by some to be the "bottom of the barrel" for the program.

For example, in 2007 Clinton finished 5-7 (4-3 in conference), 2009 3-8 (3-4 conference), 2010 4-6 (3-3 in conference), 2011 1-9 (0-6 in conference), 2012 5-8 (3-4 in conference), 2017 6-6 (4-2 in conference), 2024 2-8 (2-3 in conference).

What is it at this point in time that has Clinton followers (what few are left here) so beside themselves?

Those are some pretty poor records over the last 15 or so years.

I think the seasons with the former coach had them thinking that they were back to normal. But it happens, we went through it. Give the coach time, and maybe he can get it right. Ijs

Are the players in the weight room during school? If they aren't then that is an admin problem. if they are and they are not being pushed then that is a coach problem. when a team is struggling to win it starts in the WR. Confidence and winning and crushing goals and pushing through pain starts there. If they don't want to do it, they don't play. The coach must be willing to cut dead weight and make examples and those that want o play and work will get it done. You can't stop a team that believes in themselves and that they can't be outworked. just my opinion
