Close Games

Between football & basketball, OU’s record is awful in close games this year. “At least they fought hard” doesn’t seem to have the same encouragement anymore. What good is a close loss? It’s like coming in as the 2nd option for a recruit. It is much more aggravating than getting blown out.

I think the close losses in basketball to good teams is only because it is hard for higher ranked teams to be motivated when playing a team that is unranked with a losing record.

Officials aren't helping that.

When you go almost 9 minutes without scoring a basket from the field you simply are not going to win. Today vs Texas OU didn’t hit a shot with 8 plus minutes left until they hit the 3 at the end of regulation.

At least vs UT, the officiating sucked both ways. The best this team can hope for is the NIT but unless they finish at least .500 I doubt they get to it.

OU held KU without a FG for almost 13 minutes in Allen during a 2nd half stretch. Of course, shooting 30 FT’s in that same half does tend to offset that a bit.
