The NOAA estimates that on average 33 people are killed per year due to lightening strikes. So, since 2000, we have lost approximately 500 people.

If I remember correctly, we lost over 3,000 in 2001. No wonder CNN is becoming a real joke. Watch her facial expression when Duffy responds. As he points out lightening strikes are random and we can't stop them. But we can and should try and stop deaths at the hands or terrorists. What an absolutely stupid question.

Lightning doesn't pick and choose who it strikes. It is just a stupid comparison.

This is kind of ridiculous bias I was talking about with CNN. Just a dumb comparison.

Sigh... how to respond to this? It is difficult since we are trying to compare the loss of American lives, I can hardly believe we are talking about this. And it was stupid of the CNN interviewer to use a comparison like this.

If we talk about just statistics the statement is correct only if you leave out the tragic losses on 9/11. I hate to even bring it up since it is only opening a door to more ranting and I feel it will be like tramping on the honored deceased to do it.

Average deaths per year since 2002 due to acts of terrorism in the U.S. - 4.615 per year. And that was too many.

This is a morbid subject and I can't believe the CNN interviewer was stupid enough to bring it up and also that it was brought up here.

It was brought up here to demonstrate the sheer stupidity of CNN. You blame me for posting this? Absolutely insane.

No, not you. The call-out from DvlDog was a direct taunt. I shouldn't have even responded it was so offensive.

I understand the facts support his argument. I didn't claim they report factually inaccurate information. I said their content is biased and the shear audacity and tone-deafness of the position is what i think is ridiculous.

It wasn't a taunt or call-out. It was a calling of attention to a specific example to accurately illustrate the point I was making yesterday.

Ok. But there is no bias towards driving a fear of Islamic terror though? I mean two wrongs do not make a right, and CNN should just back off. But Trump is all over this as if Obama and the state department put Americans at risk over the last 8, and I'm not sure that's accurate. You know more about the threat than me, it's the same with the state department and IC. But fear has long been a very powerful political selling point. It gets people elected, bills passed, walls built, and money in the war chest. I'm not saying that's Trumps motivation, but I just don't trust the guys intentions yet.

A stupid and offensive comparison on the part of CNN interviewer. The question could have been posed in a different way. Her producer is as much to blame. I'm not sure how this is bias, unless being an insensitive dumbass counts as bias.
