His advice to Pike last season didn't work. Pike asked him what he would do if he had Dylan and Ace. Calhoun told him, "When you have thoroughbreds, you have to let them loose and be free."
Pike did exactly that. He let Dylan and Ace run wild and do what they want. It allowed them to have great stats, but the team suffered.
We lost too many players in picking them up. While he was building his UCONN teams he could do that.. recruits had no NIL+EasyPortal topull them away. It is a new world... a difficult one for programs like ours or worse.. which is most.
Dylan and Ace weren’t the issue last season. Without them the team would’ve been the bottom of the league. The supporting cast are end of the the bench players on any other Big 10 team.
