Surprised, I know the last two weeks were brutal but hopefully that didn’t have influence on this decision but wish him the best. Coach won a lot of games at Watagua and West Forsyth. One of the winningest coaches in North Carolina.
I too think this is a great job, one of the best in North Carolina in a prime area. A great place to live. The search will be interesting.

I don't think it was the last 2 weeks. I think you could say its been since Covid. When you almost die it puts things into perspective.

Super good guy, always a lot of fun to be around. One of the best things I noticed whenever I was around Snow was how kids react to him, whether it was kids from another program at a camp or his own, you could see their eyes light up. Hope the best for him in the next chapter.

Josh McGee at Reagan graduated from WF.

I doubt he'd leave Reagan, but I suppose it's not beyond possibility.

You said no quality coaches then said Josh Mcgee. Why would Mcgee leave basically the same HS to go to West? He doesn't move the needle for the Titans.

I'm not surprised. I know some coaches who are good friends with him (he is a Surry county guy after all,) and they said he was getting to the point he was wanting to do something different. He served 14 years there; that's a good run for any coach in Winston. Many of the smaller schools struggle to keep a HC more than a term if they are lucky. NF is getting close, Atkins has kept Hamlin for 8 years; but besides that not so much. Forsyth's wide open right now for anyone who wants a job.

Won't be surprised if Coach Snow gets another job somewhere; he probably just wants to have some rest time and consider his options. Don't blame him there any 4A job is tough and WF is a huge school it's not as easy once you start getting older.

Glad to hear that he’s back home! Keep that pressure on him! I also miss his potential coaches for vacancies write-ups.

He is back living in NC. Trying to pull him out of hibernation. He is actually working for UNC now.

Trying to get him to bring the team pages back. No other web activity and NO message board just the team pages.
Those team pages were a pain in the you know what. Archaic coding language on the back end.

After speaking to several coaches from the Metro and the CPC including 1 AD at a major 4A HS. Here's what they are telling me.

1. Trent Lowman (East Surry)
2. Martin Samek (Former Parkland, Rolesville)
3. Kevin Wallace (Northwest Guilford)
4. Laymarr Marshall (Mt Tabor OC)
5. Ronald Horton or Chris Vaughan (East Forsyth OC/East Forsyth Asst Head Coach)
6. West Forsyth OC or DC (Sorry I can't remember names of them)

I would love to see Mark Holcomb return to the CPC. He’s done a great job at Oak Ridge and he was fantastic with North Davidson during the Shy Tuttle days. Please apply

Would Trent leave East Surry for the Titans?
I'm not a betting man, but if I were id put a couple dollars on Coach Lowman throwing his hat in to the consideration for the West Forsyth job. He took over for a legendary coach in Coach Diamont. Made strides that nobody really could have predicted. The talent level in Pilot Mtn is going to be on the downward side of the last 4-5 years and as a career move it would probably be the right time for him to move on. He did ok in Bandys, achieved above and beyond anything we've done consistently in the past. I'd honestly like to see what he could do with a program like the one at WF

YesWrong. I said not a lot of quality coaches.
Yes, I think you’ll see a lot of quality coaches apply…. McGee & Lowman would be perfect fits. However, I don’t see McGee going to West…he’s built his own legacy at Reagan and he’s younger than he looks( he could coach there 25 more years) but it does sound good and he did graduate from West and he was assistant there..

Lowman is interesting, very interesting and it makes sense. I like Holcomb too but he’s like McGee and kinda has his own legacy at Oak Grove but I know he misses the CPC.

Lowman is a hell of a coach but Surry County culture is different from forsyth county. With the open enrollment you have to have relationships with the little leagues that funnel groups of players to certain programs, also it's like the ncaa with the transfer portal you have to recruit your players to stay every season.

What's Oak Ridge? Isn't that a military school?

This is why he would do great. He gets players to the next level and the best I've seen in this area. He is in Surry but folks in Stokes speak highly. He would give East a run in few years because the talent would come.

After watching this first half at East Forsyth(Shutout so far). I really like East Coach Beal as well ; just another interesting coach who is very qualified. I mean he does a fantastic job with his defensive schemes. I’m very impressed.

I've been saying it for years. Coach Willert has the best DC in the State. I think he was a good coach when he got to East. Coach Willert turned him into a dang Hell of a DC. I also think players would transfer to play for him. He's a players coach. The only thing is he's had multiple opportunities to take Head jobs but he stays with Willert and Wins

This is an interesting name. He would do well filling the shoes left from Coach Snow. He did an incredible job there and his legacy in this state is secured. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in a few years after a nice reset, or probably more likely to land in SC.

I would hate to see Holcomb leave Oak Grove. He has ties to northern Davidson County and has OG a couple of playmakers away from contending. I have no doubt he would do very well at WF with the talent he would be working with. He did well in the CPC with North Davidson when they were the smallest school in the conference and basically the only one without open enrollment.

Agree with everything except the recruit your players to stay part. There would be a mass exodus every year if that were an option for kids. Only a certain percentage try and leave and very few are recruited. Winning and getting kids into school recruits itself. Some schools don't have to say much.

I've heard several names being thrown out there and I've named a few myself. Any West fans on here? Could you tell me who you guys would like to see.
