playing UCLA...thats awesome, especially since they were one of the teams I mentioned.

Now Meo, what was that about not playing a team on the road with no return game? We are Mississippi State, we don't have to do that right? Or have they just not announced UCLA coming to Jackson next season to play in the Coach34 Classic?

Its nice that we are finally doing what I've said we should be doing- running the Spread and playing a tougher schedule in basketball. I'll continue to remain ahead of the curve and let the rest of you know what we will be doing in 3-4 years from now

34 didn't make it into the Douche Final 4. As soon as Tenureplan saw that we picked up UCLA he wondered how long it would take 34 to start saying "told you so". But he didn't expect this much chest thumping; even from 34.

about how wrong I was and how we would NEVER "play a team on the road without a return game", tenureplan is going to have to accept a little chest-thumping

said we shouldn't; not we wouldn't. Maybe its semantics, but those two words carry a totally different meaning to me. Honestly, I wish it was at their house instead of neutral, we aren't even getting the road bonus for RPI.

competition. All of us would like to see more games like this. The argument was we couldn't get a team like this to schedule a truly 'neutral' game or a home and home series or a 2-for-1 even. We're basically playing UCLA on the road. I'm all for it, but I seriously doubt UCLA returns a game anywhere near the southeast.

....but not all of it. It seems Greg Byrne and Stansbury agreed with Coach34 on the issue. Does that upset you?

I'm all for playing tougher competition, especially in basketball. I never entered into that other argument. I'm glad Mr. Byrne got this done for us.

Anyway, Hanmudog still thinks Coach34 is a douchebag. By the way, you suck as a douchebag for not making the Final 4.</p>

That's the way I read them as well. The way I remember it was C34 said we could get an exchange game with anyone, or a neutral court game at least.

This is neither and will only do us well if we win.

but that was my main beef with Stansbury. He needs to win ALL the cupcakes at home.

I just get tired of all the repeat posting, saying the same f'n thing over and over and over. Not all of his points are that bad, it's the constant repeat posting saying the same **** that gets old to me. I don't even argue with his *** anymore. Maybe I'll just start interjecting my opinion on all of your posts from now since you like to suck him off so much lately.

these statements "switch to a more aggressive offense, schedule harder teams when we have more talent, etc etc" are pretty obvious to the most casual observer, so what's the big deal?

I don't remember anyone saying "we would NEVER". I do remember several saying we "SHOULDN'T" or "WE DON'T NEED TO" but saying we never would?

*****OK, I see in the thread where you quoted someone saying we wouldn't. Guess I missed that one.

...but I agreed with him totally on this issue. And most of the board killed him for it. DawgatAuburn is the same way. This has been an enjoyable process.

had more sack than to pimp our basketball program out. Guess I was wrong. We should've scheduled one or two home and home series, like we did with Missouri and Miami. Or a 3-game thing like we did with Xavier. That would've been more than enough to boost our RPI.

I am never in favor of playing one-off road games with no return, and I thought our AD had the same opinion. Too bad he doesn't share that.

Let it be known that if we happen to lose, I don't want to see one of you pussies on here bitching about it. Not one. After all, we should be happy to have just had the chance to play and improve our RPI, regardless of the outcome, right?

Correct. Sort of. Losing to them will be better than a GW win. I won't complain about that. But if we have the win in reach but piss the game away, I am still going to complain about losing.

I actually pulled a Ronny on a few of these and have some more if needed.

I was told 3 weeks ago we were adding a big game on the road with somebody, they just didnt know who yet. I've enjoyed drawing responses until they sealed the deal and it went public

But what sucks is this is only two days after the SEC/BIG East challenge in Tampa. The timing couldn't suck any worse.

This is what is going to happen in order to "upgrade" the schedule. Better get used to it. Less home games. More road games (losses). We better just hope Slive goes to bat for us as he promised when we finish a season 18-12. We'll see about that.

but realistically, most of the people who disagreed with you on this did not put it as the poster you quoted. A lot still do not agree with this move.

I also hope Stans skips Disneyland this time and just lets Meo take the kids. I don't remember him standing up more than twice in the 07 Southern Ill. and Miami (OH) games combined. So I figured that either Disneyland wore him out or he figured With Jamont and Chuck both shooting on the first touch every time down, why bother coaching. I still get pissed at Stans when I think about that weekend. If we win one of those games, we probably arent playing Memphis in the Second Rd.

Oh, if we lose I will *****, especially if it is because Stans doesn't start Kodi and Sidney, or he makes some stupid coaching mistakes during the game.
