Did we make a mistake/bad call recruiting too many Juno hitters early? Yeah probably but the fact that many here can't grasp the dynamic of college baseball, and specifically our program and where we've been, is somewhat appalling.

Cohens completely safe for at least the next 2-3 years.

Fanning - 2010
Stansbury - 2009
Miller - 2009 (could be wrong)

Eta: despite your sarcasm, you made a great point

and just where we've been the last 10 years. I used to catch hell on this site back in 2005 for saying that Mississippi had passed us in college baseball and that there was nothing special about the MSU baseball program nationally. Nobody expects the CWS every other year and hosting and winning regionals most years. And we all know just how much the new bats are killing college baseball. But even taking all those things into account, our hitting is the worst I've ever seen. We're not just the worst in the SEC, we're the worst by a wide margin.

in fact I'm starting to wish we would have continued to bring more of them in. Heck, even this year, one of the few decent hitters we have is Trey Porter who is a first year walk on from JUCO. I would just as soon get a JUCO guy that can contribute some immediately as get the HS guys that we are apparently needing to wait nearly 2 full years for the light to click on for them.
