I guess you're the expert on scheduling and rpi and such. Please explain to me how this schedule got a certain team 25 spots higher than MState in the rpi rankings:

First of all, they won a lot. That helps.

Second, they didn't have too many bad losses. The worst was at Utah. Only one other outside the top 100.

10 wins in the top 100, including one in the top 25.

We had five losses outside the top 100 and only seven top 100 wins. Two of those were in the top 25, but two of our best wins came in Nashville when clearly it was too late to make an impact.

Class dismissed.

They won 2 more games than we did all season, 26 to 24. And, how any of those wins are in the Top 100 is complete ******** as well. Maybe a couple of them, but 10? That schedule is terrible, no other way to spin it.

Haven't you heard he is the best coach ever and that we got robbed against UK by the refs and Slive...
You know he turned down a job in the ACC this year, he is a hot commodity in the coaching searches.

Northeastern's RPI wasnt but 15 spots behind ours

They had a 17 game winning streak and like D@A said, had alot of top 100 wins...now look at their losses

Losses-

Northeastern- 77
Utah- 165St Mary's- 30
N. Mexico St- 56 (2 losses)
La Tech- 81
Long Beach- 111

compared to ours:

Rider- 140
Richmond- 26
W. Kentucky- 138
Alabama- 104
UPig- 155

Just whenever you find time. Did he choke this year? yes. If he doesnt make the tourney next season I have no problem with MSU running him off. Is he as bad as you and your church league knowledge of basketball make him out to be? no

Our RPI wasn't hurt so much by our schedule as it was by our home losses and bad losses. If we'd just beat the teams we should have, we'd have been in the tournament easily.

but its what we deal with. Its what we've dealt with for a long, long time. You may think the top 100 wins are BS, but the committee probably doesn't.

It can be manipulated.

I just don't see how these teams can have that high of an RPI when they all play a bunch of nobody's all year. That's why I guess I don't understand. How in the hell does Northeastern have an RPI 15 spots behind ours? What did they do to deserve that high of a ranking? How is La Tech ranked 75 spots ahead of Arkansas? It just doesn't make sense. Then, a team like Utah State plays all of these nobodies all year long and receive an RPI ranking of 30? It's just ******** if you ask me.

I dont think RPI is the best measure either- but it's the system they have in place. And also why I think we need to eliminate 2 nobodys and pick-up 2 solid top 30-top 40 programs each year- losing to good teams is better than losing to crap. Stansberry has proven he is going to lose to these nobodys anyway, so lets just get the RPI help and lose to a better program...

the BCS conferences get over 50% of the NCAA bids every season...and almost half of the BCS teams get a bid...so it's kind of hard to complain

so for that, we absolutely agree. I was just looking at your signature earlier and it got me to thinking because I don't really understand it myself. Sure, we lost a couple of games that we should not have and yes, it wound up ultimately costing us the Tourney bid, but the SOS that Stans said he doesn't understand....well, when you look at Utah State's schedule and look at ours, I just don't see how they could have been ranked 25 spots ahead of us. Makes no sense at all.

the last few years...teams are rebuilding and not doing a very good job of it. No excuse for Auburn to have a 151 RPI with the team they had. And that's what gets some of us so damn pissed off- we havent been able to really take advantage of it. 2 NCAA's in the last 5 years.

I think Bammer made a good hire
I think Fortson leaving may have been the final nail for Opie- we'll see what they have to replace him...that's the key for UPig
Auburn goes into reuild mode
LSU has another year of rebuilding left before they can even think of challenging
Mississippi is literally our only competition in the West unless Grant turns Bammer around even quicker than I think he will

But despite all of this diatribe, why in the hell are they failing? You think Ark, LSU, and OM have superior coaches so - forgetting Stansbury for a moment - why have these superior coaches NOT done a very good job of rebuilding at historically superior basketball schools (especially when compared to State's history)!?!?!?!?! How many years does P get at Ark or AK at OM? This will be Johnson's 3rd yr at LSU so he damn sure better contend for the west and make the tourney! Don't you think?

got to always have somebody want to start some ****...so here we go...

UPig- doesnt have a coaching problem. Pelphrey and his coaches are coaching them. His problems are off the court. Loses all 5 starters after year 1 and has to rebuild, then follows it up with having numerous injuries and suspensions. All that doesnt mean he gets a pass and production is the bottom line- but the coaching part of it isnt the problem in Fayetteville. (You forget about him sending Fortson at us possession after possession and we made no changes????)

LSU- Johnson 1 SEC title- Stansberry- 1 SEC title. Johnson is doing fine in BR, I just dont agree with his 2 year rebuilding plan. There is no urgency on him- his track record is pretty good and we'll see what he does the next 3-4 years.

Mississippi- check out their record the 4 years before he got there to his 4 years- it's night and day. Of course he has to make the NCAA Tourney soon, but he does have 2 SEC West titles in his 4 years....and the West is all that matters right? He's averaging 20 wins and winning West banners, whats the problem?
