It will be interesting to see how all of the new coaching contracts will be handled.

Will PSU, LSU, Florida or Auburn do buyouts differently this time around?

They should but they won't. Coaches have all the leverage. Every decent coach is going to have at least 2 or 3 schools fawning for him. So the schools will go stupid to win who they want. And thus the cycle continues.

Imo it will be LSU. Easy hire for them once they strike out on the grand slam candidates.

That's why i keep posting we need stoops to get momentum and keep this job. This is an awful cycle to hire anyone.

By end of season we will be probably 10th best job out there and everyone above us will have more money dedicated to football. That means more direct pay and more nil package. Perfect awful storm for UK this cycle.

As for buyouts, I believe it would depend on who the new coach was

For example, I don't think James Franklin can command a huge buyout.He's out of a job at the moment. Same for Will Stein, he is just an assistant

OTOH Jeff Brohm would be a better example, he is leaving a good job and might well be able to command a substantial buyout in order to change schools

For that reason, I thought the Kelly buyout was fair: He left Notre Dame for god's sakes to come to LSU
