Payne got a first round bye. Dooley got a double bye. And Groce apparently got a bye to the finals, like Alabama football.

I am just pointing out the fact that it ain't nearly as easy as some of you painted it to be. You had your fun for a long time, now it is mine for a short time.
The top asst in the damn country is interested in our job.
Another asst from the top team in the nation wants our job.
You can bet if either of these two guys get the job, they will hire assistants that can actually coach- instead of having assistants like we have had that look at Stansbury going "yeah, good idea- run motion again Coach"
So that in itself is an improvement.
Also, these guys deal with the top pre-Madonnas in the nation- and they seem to handle them alot better than what been going on in our program. So- another improvement.
I still think Groce is in it- there is another interview taking place this weekend- my guess is that it's him.

I just find it amusing to read the howling on the board once someone suggests out any one of them might be the guy.
The psychobabble on this board is hilarious at times and ironically resembles the Stans threads when talking about the replacement.

I think Stans main problem over the last 2-3 seasons was his assistants. They were all yes men, noone to stand up to him or anything and in the end, that was his downfall.
I also agree that I HOPE the interview this weekend is with Groce. I know that Dooley is a top assistant and great recruiter but Groce was once where Dooley is now, and has a few years head coaching under his belt. I have faith Stricklin will get the right man. I just hope that Groce gets a GOOD look

I'm not going to be doing any "I told you so," but I do feel that blowing up and rebuilding the program is a daunting task.
